Egyptian giants Zamalek have officially been knocked out of the 2022 CAF Champions League group-stages after Petro Atletico defeated Sagrada.

The win moved the Angolan champions to the top spot with 10 points, just one ahead of Wydad Casablanca, and eight ahead of Zamalek, with just two games remaining. A 95th-minute penalty from Erico secured a valuable 3-0 win & the qualification for Alexandre Santos’ men with two games to go. With just two points from their opening four games, Zamalek currently sit third in their group and needed a miracle to advance to the quarter-finals.
