Erling Haaland transfer: What we know about Borussia Dortmund release clause, contract and who could sign him (iNews)

Erling Haaland will reportedly make his decision on his next move in the next 10 days as Europe's elite try to convince the star striker to join their club. Soccer Football - Bundesliga - 1. FSV Mainz 05 v Borussia Dortmund - MEWA Arena ...

If the Bernabeu side were able to combine Haaland and Mbappe then they would have one of the most feared forward line in world football. While the transfer fee is relatively low for the player, his wage and agent bonus is likely to be huge. Marca say the club received positive medical reports in regards to Haaland. Erling Haaland is one of the most sought after players in world football. Since he joined the German side, his stock has only grown. Despite the arrival of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the January transfer window, Barcelona are also in need of a star striker having failed to replace the goals of Lionel Messi last summer but it may prove difficult for Xavi and co to sell Haaland on their vision in comparison to the other two clubs in the running.

Witsel the unlikely hero as Dortmund prevail 0-1 in Mainz (Bulinews.com)

The most unlikely of scorers was on the end of it as Axel Witsel scuffed an unorthodox shot over the outstretched Zentner for 0-1. Just as the game seemed destined for a draw, it was Marco Rose’s charges who made the breakthrough. Haaland replaced Wolf not long after, but the game was very short of chances right up to the hour mark. Papela dispossessed Witsel as the game neared closing stages and the youngster had a go from range but failed to trouble Kobel. Stoger was involved again in taking a short corner to Stach who whipped an effort narrowly wide of the left hand upright. Both sides enjoyed early spells of possession in the opening 15 minutes - visitors Dortmund with the bulk of the ball time, yet interestingly neither team had taken a shot on goal to this point. Die Schwarzgelben’s first real effort on target came in the 68th minute. Dahoud, who gave away the foul, picked up his 5th yellow card of the season and thus will miss the game vs Koln this weekend. A free kick just before the break from Kevin Stoger was probably the closest either side came to breaking the deadlock. Two Bundesliga sides had their own mini Englische Woche tonight, as Mainz and Borussia Dortmund clashed in what was a deferred Matchday 25 fixture that was due to be staged ten days earlier. A total of 14 senior team players were unavailable, including all three goalkeepers therefore the fixture couldn’t be given the green light. Included in this list was Reus, Akanji, Guerreiro, and finally Erling Haaland – the latter only making the bench with the hope of minutes as a substitute.

But the game itself had few highlights as it was punctuated by many fouls, niggles and disagreements. Watch: U.S.'s Gio Reyna Assists on Key Goal for Dortmund in ... (Sports Illustrated)

The assist—the USMNT winger's first since August—on the match-winner brings Dortmund to within four points of Bayern Munich.

The moment could prove to be an important one for Borussia Dortmund. After league-leading Bayern Munich dropped points over the weekend with a 1–1 draw, Dortmund has cut the defending champion’s lead atop the Bundesliga to four points with eight matches left, including a trip to Bayern on April 23. After returning from a three-week injury layoff Sunday in a 1–0 win over Arminia, Reyna came off the bench in the 69th minute against Mainz. With Dortmund tied in a goalless deadlock in the 87th minute, Reyna stepped up to take a free kick and found Axel Witsel at the back post for what wound up being the game-winning goal. It didn’t take Gio Reyna long to make an impact upon his return from injury as the Borussia Dortmund winger set up the match-winner against Mainz on Wednesday.

If Haaland leaves Borussia Dortmund, who will replace him? Five ... (ESPN)

Who is good enough to replace Erling Haaland once he leaves Dortmund? Norwegian football scout Tor-Kristian Karlsen surveys the options.

With Stuttgart currently third-bottom on the table -- and Kalajdzic having just one more year to run on his contract -- there's expected to be plenty of interest in the summer for a player who has scored three goals from six league matches since returning from injury. His chested down volley on the turn against Napoli in December is certainly a candidate for Serie A goal of the season. A signing from Admira Wacker in the summer of 2019, Kalajdzic is a late bloomer who first properly announced himself at the highest level with 16 Bundesliga goals last season. Ever-present on the shortlist of Italian powerhouses (he was hotly tipped for a move to Juventus before they signed Dusan Vlahovic), the ex-PSV academy player was rewarded by Roberto Mancini with his first senior caps for Italy earlier this season after impressing in Serie A, as well as for Italy under-21. With the 24-year-old in obvious need of recapturing those dizzy heights of three years ago, Dortmund might be the right place for it to happen. When it comes to playing style, Nunez has the mobility and powerful right foot that fits the profile of many elite strikers, but does share a few similarities with Haaland in particular: he's at his best when the game opens up and there's the chance to make quick, sharp early movements across the opposing defensive line.

Dortmund news: BVB's 'expectation' of Erling Haaland's next club ... (ClutchPoints)

Borussia Dortmund fully believe that Erling Haaland will join Manchester City this summer and receive a huge pay raise.

Whether the 21-year-old joins the Premier League champions or Real Madrid, who are also very keen, Erling Haaland is set for a significant increase in wages. The talks between Man City and Haaland have discussed a contract in excess of £500,000 per week. City, who currently sits at the top of the Premier League table and just one point above Liverpool, continues to succeed without a true striker.
