Avalanche Software quietly updated the FAQ page for Hogwarts Legacy, where it confirmed that the game was coming to Nintendo Switch.
Although the Nintendo Switch is not a graphical powerhouse, the console has been capable of running other AAA games. And checking the FAQ page via Wayback Machine, the screenshot shows no mention of Hogwarts Legacy coming to Switch. However, heading over to the FAQ section on the official website for Hogwarts Legacy, Avalanche Software confirmed that its game would be available on Nintendo's hybrid console.
You'll be able to make potions, tame magic beasts and unlock the school's many mysteries.
As players get up to speed with their classmates, they also learn of a rebellion of goblins who are aided by dark wizards and witches. They can also craft magical gear and potions to become even more powerful, in the Room of Requirement. This space is fully customizable to fit a player's own style. Students learn how to make potions, tame magic beasts, ride a broomstick and unlock the institution's mysteries.
Warner Bros. Interactive confirms that the upcoming Hogwarts Legacy action-RPG is also coming to the Nintendo Switch.
As confirmed by the developers, Hogwarts Legacy will not have multiplayer and will instead be a strictly single-player gaming experience when it launches later this year. Shortly after the Hogwarts Legacy State of Play presentation, Warner Bros. Interactive confirmed that not only is the game coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X, but it's also coming to the Nintendo Switch. Hogwarts Legacy seems like a fairly sizable and demanding game, so how exactly it will run on the Switch remains unclear at this point. It was later clarified that Hogwarts Legacy would be coming to PC and Xbox platforms as well as PlayStation, and now yet another system has been added to the list.

The threat in Hogwarts Legacy appears less severe than Voldemort’s invasion of the wizarding world. Binns is the history professor of Hogwarts and is notable for being the school’s only ghost professor and for being its most boring teacher. He also fraternized with the trio in Harry Potter and seemed pretty amicable in Hogwarts legacy as well. Since he died in 1492, Nearly Headless Nick has been roaming the hallways of Hogwarts, spooking the students and sometimes befriending them. Players might suspect that a young Dumbledore will be a significant character in Hogwarts Legacy, similar to what was seen in the Fantastic Beasts series. Hogwarts Legacy is set in the 1800s, long before Harry Potter’s parents were even born.
But any expansion of the wizarding world now comes with a side of culture war, due to the poisonous opinions of author JK Rowling, creator of Harry Potter and ...
Some sites and reviewers are vowing not to cover the game at all, which is certainly more substantial than an individual purchase. Refusing to buy a video game is not activism - it’s not even close. Hence, the announcement sparked a debate over whether fans should spend their time and money on the game, with some vowing to boycott, and encouraging trans allies to do the same.

And with its 2020 reveal trailer now the most-watched game trailer on the PlayStation YouTube page, it's safe to declare that the game is going to be a massive seller. As well as revealing 14 minutes of brand-new gameplay, the developers at Avalanche are showing off some exciting new concept art for Hogwarts Lgeacy.
This means more than just being able to travel the open plains, hidden caverns and even volcano-like areas around Hogwarts by foot or by broomstick. "We just knew it wasn't going to be enough to stare out of the windows of Hogwarts and wonder what was beyond." "When it comes to the open-world," Tew said.
The State of Play - which showcased Hogwarts Legacy on the PS5 - got people excited, with many taking to Reddit to voice their initial reactions.
One Redditor says, "this looks like the game I've always dreamt of since childhood," and that is a feeling many will have after seeing the introduction to the game. This game looks set to scratch a magical itch that many have had since they got introduced to the Wizarding World. After gushing over the many seemingly incredible aspects of the game, they cautiously state, "Now time to cross your fingers it doesn't turn out to be a buggy, unfinished mess..." After speaking about the game's ambitions and how the initial revelation changed their expectations, they say that "it looks too good to be true." The State of Play gave fans a lot to think about and get excited for. They simply state that the game is "giving me major Bully vibes," and many Redditors comment below them in agreement.
Hogwarts Legacy's newly revealed villains include a wizard with potential ties to the Harry Potter timeline.
Most of the Harry Potter timeline events focus primarily on the 1900s, with the Fantastic Beasts films set in the 1920s and Harry Potter's adventures set in the 1990s. Warner Bros. has said the author is not directly involved with the game, but leadership has said "she's entitled to express her personal opinion". Reports have since suggested that the game will allow for transgender characters to be created. That's all we know for now on Hogwarts Legacy's villains, but we're sure to find out more ahead of its release this holiday. The Harry Potter timeline shows the 1800s have been largely unexplored in books and films. We even see Ranrok using magic himself at one point without a wand, though it has been confirmed that goblins can use magic without one. Considered inferior to wizardkind in the Harry Potter franchise by many wizards, Goblins are subjected to prejudice and segregation.
Hogwarts Legacy looks like a totally immersive Harry Potter experience with a range of everything from taking classes to fighting wizards and goblins in ...
But JK Rowling’s presence looms too large and she remains too connected to the franchise, so I understand the desire for boycotts based on that alone. I have deep childhood connections to Harry Potter and I know that thousands of perfectly unproblematic people worked hard to make a fun, charming game based on that world. No, she may not be writing Fantastic Beast scripts or working on Hogwarts Legacy, but this is not a George Lucas situation where she’s sold the rights to Harry Potter to WB (as much as they might love that). It stands to reason that yes, any time any Harry Potter property makes money, that filters back directly to JK Rowling herself. What’s happened now with both the game and things like the new Harry Potter movies is that you have a very nervous Warner Bros. and thousands upon thousands of people working on Harry Potter projects that do not support Rowling’s views trying to make enjoyable, profitable offerings for fans. One is that this game, and really anything related to the Harry Potter universe should not be supported or given coverage due to Harry Potter creator JK Rowling’s firmly anti-trans positions that she’s expressed in the years since the books were released. The other side says that Rowling has nothing to do with the development of this game, and that you can separate the creator from their universe to still enjoy it.
