DStv Premiership Report: SuperSport United v Chippa United 05 ... (Soccer Laduma)

SuperSport United extended their winless run to four matches in the DStv Premiership after they rescued a 1-1 draw against Chippa United on Tuesday evening.

Lungu stepped up for Matsatsantsa and sent shot-stopper Lloyd Kazapua the wrong way to rescue a point for the hosts, who jumped to seventh on the log while Chippa moved four points clear of the relegation zone in 13th spot. The Chilli Boys continued to sit back with numbers, as they denied SuperSport spaces behind the defence but they conceded a penalty in the last minute after Roscoe Pietersen fouled Jesse Donn in the box. Chippa defended deep in the early stages of the second stanza, with Matsatsantsa looking for openings but they struggled to fashion any clear openings in and around the 18-yard area. The game opened up after that and Jamie Webber was unfortunate not to break the deadlock for Matsatsantsa with a wonderful volley from the edge of the box that came off the underside of the crossbar. Kaitano Tembo reacted with a double attacking change in the last 20 minutes as he threw in two youngsters Sibusiso Maziko and Thapelo Maseko in places of Aubrey Ngoma and Waiswa. The Chilli Boys had a first clear opening in the 12th minute from a counter-attack after Eva Nga went through on goal in the box but Fleurs made a decisive sweeping tackle from behind. SuperSport United extended their winless run to four matches in the DStv Premiership after drawing 1-1 with Chippa United on Tuesday evening. Kurt Lentjies' troops had the attacking momentum towards the end of the first stanza as Azola Matrose opened the scoring just before the halftime with a cracking strike that beat goalkeeper Ronwen Williams at his near post. SuperSport gave Mamelodi Sundowns loanee Bangaly Soumahoro his first start, alongside recalls for Onismor Bhasera, Luke Fleurs, Moses Waiswa and Ghampani Lungu while Chippa brought back Andile Mbenyane to partner Bienvenu Eva Nga upfront. Result: SuperSport United 1-1 Chippa United
