Less enviably, Los Angeles is fifth worst in the league in points allowed per game, with 114.8 on average. Golden State should still be riding high after a victory, while Los Angeles will be looking to right the ship. The Warriors had enough points to win and then some against the Sacramento Kings on Sunday, taking their game 109-90. Three quarters in and their offense has really been able to impose its will, dominating the Los Angeles Lakers 94-84. Los Angeles @ Golden State One thing to keep an eye out for is Jordan Poole's foul situation as he currently sits at four.

He had a brilliant run to a career-high 40 points, shooting 15-of-28 from the field and 8-of-9 at the stripe. Still, there have been moments—like Thursday night—when you get why the Lakers deemed him worthy of a salary splurge. He might exit the campaign with that same label, or at least rank second to Curry's health. He not only failed to leap forward from his sophomore campaign, he actually regressed and saw declines in both his field-goal (42.2) and three-point (27.4) percentages. L.A. countered with a game-high 40 points from Talen Horton-Tucker, while Malik Monk paired his 24 points with seven rebounds and four assists. Curry's sibling in splash, Klay Thompson, paced the club with 33 points and shot 6-of-10 from distance.

Regardless, the Dubs won’t have to worry about such things soon because not only do officials call ticky-tacky fouls less frequently in the playoffs, but also the Lakers are not in the postseason. He even asked the reporter to repeat the number of Los Angeles attempts midway through her asking the question and looked down at the stat sheet in front of him in continued disbelief as she finished her question. Jordan Poole, like most NBA players and fans, is no stranger to the implications of a lopsided free throw differential.

Klay Thompson, Warriors find two beautiful elements in win over ... (NBC Sports Bay Area)

The Warriors didn't play a complete game in beating the Lakers, but they found two encouraging sights.

And when you're at a disadvantage and in transition, you're more likely to foul. To have the amount of games under me that I’ve had, and play the minutes I’ve played, 33 minutes ... playing real minutes now, and it’s given me confidence. The most ferocious player on the floor was Lakers guard Talen Horton-Tucker, who scored a game-high 40 points and brought a determination that bordered on savagery. In the NBA, it is very hard to stop the offense when the game is played the right way.” When the ball moves, the defense moves. The first is fabulous and productive ball movement.

He flew high for some boards, and played his usual spectacular defense. Porter looks like he might be the most heavily-used player off the bench, excluding Poole, who will presumably move out of the starting lineup when Curry returns. No. Does he deserve most of it? And now the scoring is becoming more and more efficient. An efficient 19 points and 11 assists is still a hell of a game though. A vintage performance, and just in time to do it in the games that really matter. There can be no better development over the final games of the regular season than Klay rounding into form. He’s shooting efficiently, which is what the Warriors really need from him, especially with Jordan Poole’s emergence and Klay Thompson rounding into form. He’s not putting up huge scoring numbers, but that doesn’t matter. It wasn’t the most notable game for Green, but something tells me he would have brought a little something extra had LeBron and AD been playing. But if you’re one of those divine humans who can’t get enough Dubs coverage, then this is for you. The Golden State Warriors beat the Los Angeles Lakers 128-112 on Thursday, and while you don’t necessarily get bragging rights for beating an eliminated team that is resting LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook, beating the Lakers always feels good.

Lakers News: Austin Reaves Doesn't Feel Fatigued But Respected ... (LakersNation.com)

Los Angeles Lakers rookie Austin Reaves said he respected head coach Frank Vogel's decision to sit him despite his desire to play.

Because the Lakers are not making the postseason, it would make sense to try and feed Reaves all the minutes and reps he can handle in their final two games of the 2021-22 season. Those kinds of misses usually indicate tired legs, but that was not the case after the games he sat as his jumper looked much more fluid and on balance. These guys are used to playing 30 games a year and to play as many as he’s played and the minutes he’s playing, you could just see all his shots were short. But it is what it is and you can’t look back and dwell on it, you just go into the summer and do the necessary things to get better as an individual, as a group, and then come back stronger next year.” And then the two DNPs, you want to play but it’s the coach’s decision. It was the eighth consecutive loss for the Lakers, who have nothing left to play for after being eliminated from playoff contention earlier in the week.

Lakers News: Talen Horton-Tucker Didn't Feel Pressure To Go For ... (LakersNation.com)

Los Angeles Lakers guard Talen Horton-Tucker had a career night against the Golden State Warriors but didn't feel added pressure to get to 40.

“Of course, every time we step on the court we’re not playing to lose. Just being able to lock in and have the coaching staff give me the confidence to keep going is always going to be good, too.” But even though L.A. has nothing left to play for, Horton-Tucker said the Purple and Gold will do what they can to get one more win for the hometown fans. “Put the right plays together to try to help get a win. “With the year being up and down, and us being eliminated now, just being aggressive in the times we finish out. I knew I was going to have to settle into a role that I wasn’t going to have the ball.
