The last time snow fell in Lesotho was towards the end of November last year. Although conditions are expected to begin clearing over the Northern Cape, and parts of the North West, Free State and Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal was on Sunday issued with a yellow weather warning for severe and disruptive rain. Light snowfall was predicted to occur, along with wet and cold conditions, over the central and southern parts of Lesotho, and surrounding Drakensberg mountains on Saturday and Sunday night.

There are some STUNNING (and dangerous) pics and videos of the first 2022 snowfall in Lesotho. With icy temperatures, more snow is expected.

The footage was filmed on Sunday morning as some of the busses left the AfriSki resort in Lesotho. According to the latest report from the SA Weather Service, the Drakensberg might still manage to taste snowfall. Aside from the photos, there is also video of snow on the mountain pass. Pictures sent to local storm watchers Snow Report SA, show that residents and visitors to the AfriSki lodge in the Lesotho mountains, woke up to some beautiful scenes.

The grey, gloomy day also saw the first snow of the year falling in Lesotho, where AfriSki guests and staff woke up to a fluffy blanket of light snow over the resort.
