While the internet has been quick to brand Portman's revamped character as 'Lady Thor', the comic storyline the film will likely adapt from as well as Taika ...
Thor lost his entire planet and family and Jane’s potentially life-threatening illness means that the two have a lot of catching up to do. Rather than be a love interest or be the motivation Thor needed to win his battles in Thor and Thor: The Dark World, we now get a chance to see Jane stand shoulder to shoulder with the son of Odin. This pretty much mirrors Portman’s own role in the MCU, becoming a superhero alongside Hemsworth, after being little more than a half-baked supporting player. With the film titled Love and Thunder, it also stands to reason that the franchise will dip its toes back into the romance that was the bedrock for the original Thor films. The MCU treatment of Jane in particular makes her decision to come back as the Mighty Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder a great idea as we will finally get to see Jane level up and be the hero she deserved to be in the first two films. Fans have long decried the MCU’s treatment of its female love interests, particularly Jane Foster who was made out to be the epitome of a helpless female in need of saving, for much of the first two Thor movies. An intergalactic, action-filled road trip film with Waititi’s signature humor would undoubtedly allow the tragic Foster storyline to settle with audiences better, so this unlikely band of heroes seems like a great place for Mighty Thor to make her MCU debut.

The images seem to confirm that Jane’s transformation in Thor: Love and Thunder will happen, as it does in the comics, after she comes into contact with Mjolnir. Mjolnir’s Return — Ever since it was revealed that Jane Foster will become The Mighty Thor in Thor: Love and Thunder, fans have been theorizing about how the character’s transformation might unfold on-screen. However, while the short teaser does a lot to sell the film’s visual style and playful tone, it also waits until the very end to give fans something they’ve been waiting years to see.
Marvel fans reckon Loki, Beta Ray Bill, Hercules or Lady Sif might have been cut from the superhero sequel's teaser.
Given the fact that the new Thor movie is called Thor: Love and Thunder, we reckon romance will play a part in the plot, which makes Starfox's inclusion all the more plausible. Later, the former shared the tweet alongside the caption, "We're cooking something up." They wouldn't have left a big empty space next to Thor if it were just him and Korg in the shot." Before long, people started speculating as to who the hidden cameo – if there really is one – might be from. Y'all ain't ready," another suggested, as a third chimed in: "Alright, I wanna know who they edited out on the left. But what is Taika Waititi planning in the interim? While both Star Lord and Thor’s romantic interests in the MCU have been women to date, that doesn’t seem like it has to stay that way. But is director Taika Waititi possibly going to make that into something…more pronounced, with Thor: Love and Thunder? Let me present some evidence.
Thor: Love and Thunder's first trailer became the 5th-most viewed MCU trailer in history.
Thor: Love and Thunder cracking the 10 most-viewed trailers in history is quite a feat, especially considering it's only the second MCU solo movie on the list after the behemoth that was Spider-Man: No Way Home. It also comes in with the seventh-highest view count in movie history, with six of the top 10 being MCU films. Thank you for the 209M views in 24hrs!"
The number makes the teaser the fourth-most viewed trailer in 24 hours, behind the trailers for three other Marvel films: “Avengers: Infinity War,” “Avengers: ...
On Tuesday, Marvel Studios announced that the official teaser for “ Thor: Love and Thunder” has reached 209 million views in the first 24 hours. That number represented a massive increase from the previous record holder, “Avengers: Endgame,” which gained 289 million views over the course of its first day streaming. The “Infinity War” trailer, which launched in November 2017, gained 230 million views during its first 24 hours.
A lot of cosmic eyeballs were on the Thor: Love and Thunder teaser that dropped Monday.
It opens with Thor (Chris Hemsworth) getting back into amazing shape after the God of Thunder packed on a few pounds during a five-year time jump in Avengers: Endgame. The bright, stylish trailer sets the tone for the film in true Taika Waititi form, who directed the popular Thor: Ragnarok and returned to the director’s chair for Love and Thunder. The film will also feature the Guardians of the Galaxy and Tessa Thompson reprising her fan-favorite role as Valkyrie. That puts the preview in the top tier of Marvel trailers for most views in a day, behind Avengers: Infinity War (230 million) and Avengers: Endgame (289 million). However, the crown still belongs to Spider-Man: No Way Home, which raked in an astonishing 355.5 million views in its first 24 hours.
Chris Hemsworth as Thor Odinson · Natalie Portman as Jane Foster / The Mighty Thor · Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher · Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie · Taika ...
The actor has earned praise for not only his dramatic roles in movies such as American Sniper and Nightmare Alley, but also for the Oscar-nominated film A Star is Born, in which he starred and directed. As the teenage “Tree,” Groot played a crucial role in helping Thor fight Thanos in Infinity War, even becoming the handle for his ax Stormbreaker. While we don’t know what Groot will do with Thor in Love and Thunder, we can probably guess what he’ll say. But based on the positive reaction to his brief comic scene with Hemsworth in Infinity War, Pratt’s most anticipated appearance may be the return of Star-Lord in Love and Thunder. The newest member of the Guardians had limited screentime with Thor in Infinity War, so hopefully we’ll get to see more of them together in Love and Thunder. The French actress made her American debut in Spike Lee’s poorly-regarded remake of Park Chan-wook’s Oldboy in 2013. More than a mere cameo, Star-Lord and the Guardians’ appearance continues the storylines from Infinity War and Endgame, which teamed the God of Thunder with Rocket (aka Rabbit) and Groot (aka Tree). If the teaser trailer is any indication, Star-Lord’s advice will help Thor take his next steps. The even bigger breakout is Korg’s voice actor, Taika Waititi, director of Ragnorok and Love and Thunder. Waititi started in his native New Zealand, creating a 2005 short film Two Cars, One Night, which earned an Academy Award nomination. Before putting on Batman’s cape and cowl, Bale debuted as a child actor, earning praise for his performance in Steven Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun at age 13. In the years that followed, Portman worked with some of the best directors, including Terrence Malick on Knight of Cups, Alex Garland in Annihilation, and Pablo Larraín in Jackie, for which she received another best actress nomination. For this unprecedented fourth solo movie, Thor: Love and Thunder, Hemsworth and Waititi not only reprise their roles as Thor and Korg but they’re joined by a team of Academy Award winners and fan favorites. Since then, Hemsworth has embraced more comedy roles, developing skills sure to come in handy for Love and Thunder. Even though the first Thor movie grossed almost $450 million in 2011, few people walking out of the theater probably thought the God of Thunder would go where Captain America and Iron Man could not and earn a fourth entry in his franchise. After regularly appearing on Australian television throughout the 2000s, Hemsworth made his film debut as George Kirk, father of James T., in J.J. Abram’s 2009 Star Trek reboot.
