“The team has improved a great deal over the season,” Allegri concluded. The absentees are providing Max Allegri with a convenient alibi and even allowing the Coach to say he was “trying to bring home a draw” against Sassuolo. So for now, Boniperti’s belief that doing whatever you must in order to win is fine. “Above all, people need to understand the moment we are going through. “With four rounds left in the season, you have to win the games, the rest does not count for anything” he continued, before reaching his ultimate point. That phrase was first uttered by Juventus legend Giampiero Boniperti many years ago, and has become the unofficial motto of the club.

Juventus earned an important win against Sassuolo last night, which takes them closer to sealing a return to the Champions League.

They eventually secured the points to continue their good 2022. We might not win the league again in this campaign, but if we take this fighting spirit with us to next season, we have a great chance of ending the campaign with the league title. They took the lead in the game and made the Bianconeri work hard to win.

Juventus faces Sassuolo in a Serie A match on Monday, April 25, 2022 (4/25/22) at Mapei Stadium in Reggia Emilia, Italy.

“Clearly imagining an end to the game like that was difficult,” Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti said. Fourth-place Juventus can move within one point of Napoli with a win at Sassuolo on Monday. Riccardo Saponara had equalized for Fiorentina. Having spent most of the season in last place, Salernitana is suddenly on a three-match winning streak — its first such run in its Serie A history — and putting up a fight to avoid relegation. Napoli conceded three straight goals — including one that was the product of a terrible error by goalkeeper Alex Meret — and squandered a two-goal advantage in a 3-2 defeat that extended its winless streak to three matches. Napoli’s hopes of a first Serie A title in more than three decades were virtually torn apart over an eight-minute span late in the second half at Empoli on Sunday.

(And maybe that’s why it would make us feel pretty good about things since dropped points in those games wouldn’t spell doom.) With how Roma has left this door open for Juventus to put some serious distance between themselves and their closest competition for fourth place, this is the chance to maybe put Jose Mourinho’s squad away for good. Juventus, with all of these injuries still happening, is very much a squad capable of winning but also throwing out a dud like we saw a couple of weeks ago against Bologna. We would very much not like a repeat of that because Sassuolo has the talent to make Juve pay more than Bologna. But, for now, hopefully a win in the semifinals of the Coppa Italia is the right kind of momentum this team needs to finish the final few weeks of the season on a strong note. An eight-point advantage with four games to play is something that I think all of us would take, and that’s even with Juve still having games against Lazio and Fiorentina to close out the season. Of course, this will be attempted at a Mapei Stadium in which Juventus has seen both good times and bad ever since Sassuolo became a regular in Serie A. Maybe this will prove to be one of the good times in which Max Allegri’s squad, one that is still very much shorthanded in every position group because of injuries, is able to extend its advantage over Roma to eight points and Lazio 10 points with a win over Sassuolo and its host of talented players who could make the leap to the big clubs of Italy come the summertime. You want a prime example of Juventus having a chance to take advantage of all the results that happened both in front of them and right behind them in the standings while they weren’t even playing, here you go.

Sassuolo vs Juventus Player Ratings: Kean the Super-Sub (The Cult of Calcio)

On the curtain closer of Serie A round 34, Sassuolo hosted Juventus at the Mapei Stadium, so check out our player ratings for the Monday night clash.

Almost scored himself on two occasions, but Consigli made a great save on his header, while his shot whistled past the post. Left the pitch early in the second half. The former Real Madrid man once again started as a holding midfielder, but looked lost between the lines. But he’ll be happy to have an assist to his name after heading the ball in Kean’s direction. A mixed bag for the former Arsenal shot-stopper who was beaten at his near post for Sassuolo’s goal. It wasn’t a bad outing for the Italian center. He then delivered on his threats by opening the scoring with a clinical finish from a tight angle. Provided the assist for Raspadori with a fabulous flick. His header went just over the goal, and then tested Szczesny with a shot. Tried his luck with shooting in the second half, and came very close on one occasion. The Turkish right-back put up an energetic display and even threatened with a couple of shots. However, Dybala left him with no chance at all with his thunderous shot, but perhaps should have done better on Kean’s winner, as he allowed the ball to slip between his legs.

Was a physical presence but it wasn't all there on the technical side. Had a few nice moments but he alongside Juve's other midfielders needed to take greater care of the ball. As always, probably a little unlucky not to score. Raspadori latched onto it to smash his effort past Szczesny at the near post to complete a lovely move. Lost his runner for Raspadori's goal and didn't look entirely fit. With Juve's interest piqued, the two sides began to share chances more evenly.
