Chippa began to get themselves on th efront foot but it was Baroka who had the first decent attempt of in the 17th minute when Christopher Sekela's arrowed free-kick towards the top right corner forced Lloyd Kazapua into decisive action after Aboubacer Sangara had handballed on the edge of his own box. It was a stop-start and scrappy start to the match with plenty of fouls committed and both sides failing to get into their rhythm. The Chilli Boys continued to apply the pressure and were playing with plenty of width.

Chippa quickly annihilated Baroka fire as they started to orchestrate some good build-up play going forward. It was the home side Chippa that started on a high note though. With the clock winding down, Chippa continued to pile the pressure on the visitors but they had nothing to show for their efforts as the two teams were still deadlocked at half-time.
