Jamie Vardy could drop to the bench after starting Thursday’s meeting with Roma. The job is not done yet, but the Toffees have given themselves a fighting chance of avoiding the drop. Everton were five points adrift of safety when their game against Chelsea kicked off, and a 20th defeat of the season would have left them in a precarious position.

Leicester vs Everton, live! Score, updates, how to watch, stream (NBC Sports)

Leicester City host Everton at the King Power Stadium on Sunday with both teams in very different situations late in the season.

Frank Lampard’s side have lost seven in a row away from home and are the worst PL team on the road this season. They don’t have much to play for and Rodgers may rotate his side to give a few players a chance to prove themselves late in the season. They are two points from safety but have a game in-hand over Burnley and Leeds who sit just above the bottom three.

Brett Pund gives his detailed thoughts, plus his top pick, for Sunday's Premier League match between Leicester City and Everton.

That won’t be the case this time around following the long trip from Italy on Thursday. Meanwhile, this same bet has cashed in eight of his 13 matches in charge, including the last four outings. Leicester City vs Everton LIVE - score updates and stream (Liverpool Echo)

Live score updates, team news and commentary stream from the King Power Stadium as Everton face Leicester City in the Premier League.

However, they do have games in hand on both Burnley and Leeds United. Demarai Gray fires a speculative effort high and wide after a spell of Everton possession up the pitch This has been the longest 11 minutes of a second half of all time, I'm convinced of it That was heading for the top corner and he's got a great hand to it, the following corner dealt with too. Two more big saves from Jordan Pickford in this half but Everton are still a threat on the break. Richarlison slides in to make a great block and take the sting out of a long-range Tielemans effort, making sure it got to Pickford safely. Harvey Barnes this time with a low drive from outside the box and the England No.1 is AGAIN on hand to palm it away. The graphics here show 67% of possession to Leicester. They have not controlled this second half though, it’s been a chaotic, 40 minutes largely played in the middle of the pitch. He was going nowhere and had probably lost control of the ball but threw his body in front of the defender’s and wins a cheap free-kick that allows the Blues to escape their final third and run down the clock. And there was a stunning moment towards the end of the first half when travelling Toffees belted out club classic 'Spirit of the Blues' for several minutes in the spring sunshine. Now Gordon wins a free kick 30 yards out and it is back in the corner with Rondon. The Blues won 2-1 at the King Power Stadium this afternoon, with goals from Vitalii Mykolenko and Mason Holgate. It means Frank Lampard's men have moved up to 16th in the table, after defeats for Burnley and Leeds United.

Everton at Leicester: Opposition Analysis | No Better Time Than This (Royal Blue Mersey)

The Blues have every chance they'll ever need to end their hoodoo on the road against demotivated opposition.

It is reasonable to expect some slackness in Leicester’s structure and shape given the high likelihood that there will be a lot of changes from their last line-up and the Blues, who are showing signs of being a more cohesive unit recently can take advantage tomorrow. This vulnerability forced Rodgers’ hand as he abandoned his initial approach at halftime but it was another long-term problem that holed them below the waterline, as terrible marking allowed Tammy Abraham to power home a virtually uncontested header from a corner, another black mark to add to the 17 set-piece goals the team have shipped in the league this season. What formation Rodgers goes with on Sunday will depend largely on which players have recovered sufficiently to be available for selection; it is highly unlikely he will take risks with anybody, given there is not much on the line for the home team. For the Blues, it is everything; for the Foxes, there is little at stake other than pride in personal performance as they seek to play out the season. This is the last opportunity that Frank Lampard will have this amount of preparation and recovery time between matches, as the season ends in a rush, so he needs to take full advantage of these favourable factors and end Everton’s dreadful away run on Sunday. We only took a look at Brendan Rodgers’ outfit a few weeks ago, so much is still relevant such a short time later, but let’s examine some pertinent data here. This season, with its extended continental campaign (14 European matches in total) has been a real test of Leicester’s depth and it’s fair to say it has been found wanting, as evidenced by their relative underperformance in the Premier League, where they currently sit in eleventh spot.

But inside the box he was City's biggest threat of the match, putting a header just wide and denied by a terrific Pickford save. Even before his goal, he looked a threat with his movement, and then his persistence caused the mix-up that he profited from with a nice finish. He didn’t move the ball quickly enough in the second half and his influence waned. Youri Tielemans: He audibly frustrated the crowd with his performance, with very little forward play coming off for the Belgian, and his control letting him down on more than one occasion as well. He looked more comfortable in the middle, but flagged late on and was not as busy as he usually is. Daniel Amartey: There were moments where he showed brilliant composure to bring the ball down and get City moving forward, but then there were others where he misread the flight of the ball.

Jamie Vardy was only the bench for the game, with Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka starting up front, but that is as a precaution. The number 10 is one of a number of players not involved at the King Power Stadium, as City return to Premier League action after their Europa Conference League exit at Roma on Thursday. Ricardo Pereira and James Justin are also out. James Maddison is missing from the Leicester City squad that is facing Everton because of a tight hamstring.
