HighGold Makes New Discovery at Munro-Croesus with Wide ... (Business Wire)

“We are excited to intersect such wide intervals of gold mineralization in our first two drill holes at the new Argus Zone discovery,” commented President and ...

Samples of drill core were cut by a diamond blade rock saw, with half of the cut core placed in individual sealed polyurethane bags and half placed back in the original core box for permanent storage. The Golden Mile 89.5 square kilometer (34.5 square mile) property is located nine kilometers (5.6 miles) northeast of Newmont’s multi-million-ounce Hoyle Pond deposit in Timmins. The Timmins South (Golden Perimeter) 128 square kilometers (49 square mile) property is located to the south and southeast of Timmins on the south edge of the Shaw dome structure. Drill hole MC22-110 intersected a wide interval of gold mineralization, returning 62.8 meters at 0.79 g/t within 136.0 meters at 0.54 g/t Au in addition to a second zone of 26 meters at 0.51 g/t gold. Both drill holes reported herein intersected wide zones of near surface gold mineralization highlighted by 62.8 meters at 0.79 g/t within 136.0 meters at 0.54 g/t Au in MC22-110. These results represent a new discovery of bulk-tonnage style gold at the Munro Croesus Project named the Argus Zone. Although the Company has attempted to identify important factors that could cause actual actions, events or results to differ from those described in forward-looking statements, there may be other factors that cause such actions, events or results to differ materially from those anticipated. 1. Fenn-Gib Gold Project and Tower Gold Project mineral resources compiled from public sources and are provided for general information purposes. “We are excited to intersect such wide intervals of gold mineralization in our first two drill holes at the new Argus Zone discovery,” commented President and CEO Darwin Green. “While best known for exceptionally high-grade gold at the historic Croesus Mine, the results released today clearly demonstrate that the Munro-Croesus Project also has potential to host large bulk-tonnage style gold deposits. HighGold’s experienced Board and senior management team, are committed to creating shareholder value through the discovery process, careful allocation of capital, and environmentally/socially responsible mineral exploration. The 2022 Winter Drill Program was completed in early April with a total of 7,401 meters drilled in 33 holes. The Munro-Croesus Gold Project is located approximately 75 kilometers (47 miles) east of Timmins, proximal to the Porcupine-Destor and Pipestone Faults, and approximately two kilometers (1.2 miles) northwest and along trend of Mayfair Gold Corp.’s multi-million ounce Fenn-Gib gold deposit. The Munro-Croesus Project is located along Highway 101 in the heart of the Abitibi greenstone belt, Canada's premier gold mining jurisdiction (Figure 1). Extensive land consolidation by the Company in 2020-2021 unified the patchwork of patented and unpatented mining claims surrounding the Croesus Gold Mine into one coherent package and enhanced the exploration potential of the Project. The Project covers 51 km2 (20 mi2) of highly prospective geology within the influence of major gold-bearing structural breaks. These results, which are from immediately north of the regional gold-bearing Pipestone Fault, represent a new discovery of bulk-tonnage style gold at Munro-Croesus.

New gas discovery for Energean off Israel (Offshore Energy)

Energean has made a commercial gas discovery in Block 12 offshore Israel, bolstering its beliefs in the potential of the Olympus Area.

“This discovery and the broader de-risking of a number of prospects in the Olympus Area reaffirms the role of the East Mediterranean as a global gas exploration hotspot. Afterwards, the rig is expected to complete the Karish North development well. Energean further added that a spot contract was signed with the Israel Electric Corporation (IEC) in March 2022. Energean holds 100 per cent interest in the Athena exploration well, which was drilled on Block 12, located 20 kilometres from Karish and 20 kilometres from Tanin A, in a water depth of 1,769 metres. The firm also informed that the Athena discovery can be commercialised in the near term via tie-back to the Energean Power FPSO, which sailed away from Singapore earlier this month. Energean believes that the tie-back would enhance the profitability of the Karish-Tanin development.

API Security Starts With Discovery, Not Gateways (SDxCentral)

API security should start with discovering of APIs rather than implementing an API gateway or other security product, Gartner says.

And there may also be third party APIs that you use that may have security issues that are also not registered” in the API management tool, O’Neill explained. “The service behind the API, of course there’s code there that’s running the service. The final step is implementing fine-grained API access control, according to the analyst firm. “Is that API definition locked down? APIs present a large potential attack surface and various attack vectors like insecure API key storage, for example. First, enterprises need to know exactly what they’re trying to secure, VP Analyst Mark O’Neill said during Gartner’s Application Innovation and Business Solutions Summit.

Warner Bros. Discovery Aims to Use Sports to Snatch Primetime Ad ... (Variety)

Warner Bros. Discovery offers a 'Premiere' ad package that uses sports and Warner shows to win primetime ad dollars from rivals like NBC.

With NCAA March Madness, NHL, NBA and MLB games, he says, Warner Bros. Discovery is poised to deliver larger audiences than many broadcast offerings in spring and summer, thanks to the migration of audiences for scripted series to streaming venues. He has also found ways to get so-called “endemic” advertisers who have more to do with the sale of food supplies to restaurants or home-improvement goods to retailers to take up more TV advertising than they have in the past. The company has, in its earliest days, already scuttled the launch of CNN+ and cut ties with the SAG Awards, a longtime Hollywood showcase for TNT. Increasing ad revenue would only help the company achieve its goals. Now, he finds himself navigating not just the lifestyle networks of Discovery but the flashier properties of Warner. Steinlauf is likely to have influence over the growing world of ad-supported streaming, as Warner Bros. Discovery is expected to combine Discovery+ with HBO Max. Both venues offer ad-supported tiers, but “these are really two babies” in the streaming wars, and the company is willing to consider new advertising ideas and policies, depending on what clients want. Some clients, he says, will seek to align their commercials with both types of programming. Even so, it has found ways to pair marketers with HBO-style programs that Madison Avenue has long coveted. The new sales pitch, unveiled a week before Warner Bros. Discovery rivals are set to make their own outreach to Madison Avenue in glitzy meetings, represents an early move by Steinlauf, who parlayed a stint running advertising sales for former Scripps Networks properties like HGTV and DIY into a gig at the helm of what may be one of the more truculent media operators in recent memory. Warner Bros. Discovery intends to augment an existing package it has already been offering to advertisers. “This supply of our top-tier inventory is much needed in this marketplace.” The strategy shows the newly merged company growing aggressive as the industry’s annual “upfront” advertising market looms. “When you put together all of the discrete fan bases together, you’ve got as much reach as any company can get,” he says. Traditional hits in broadcast primetime “are hard to find” in the streaming era, says Jon Steinlauf, chief U.S. advertising officer for Warner Bros. Discovery, in an interview.

How Warner Bros. Discovery's ad sales chief will sell streaming in ... (AdAge.com)

Jon Steinlauf plans to keep HBO Max and Discovery+ separate during this year's ad haggle.

But speaking specifically about ad sales for the ’22-’23 upfront, we believe going out there with a separate offer for Discovery+ and a separate offer for HBO Max will serve our purposes and the marketplace’s purpose better. HBO Max is really built around scripted drama, and some comedy, like the Lakers series or "Succession." Now, not every one of these shows is available with ads—we're still working through what has ads and what doesn't have ads. We're mostly selling an audience segment, and a lot of it is being done through addressability and programmatic tools. A really, really good question that we're thinking about now in the ad sales upfront, is it one brand or two? And a good example of a great new brand in our portfolio is Magnolia. So when you have a good brand, it's worth trying to find growth wherever you can find it.

Warner Bros. Discovery: Is This New Entertainment Stock a Good ... (Motley Fool)

The product of a merger between two veteran entertainment companies, Warner Bros. Discovery may prove stronger than the sum of its parts.

On the other hand, WarnerMedia isn't up to snuff, according to Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels. In his review of WarnerMedia's financials, he stated, "Q1 operating profit and cash flow for WarnerMedia were clearly below my expectations." In the first quarter of 2022, free cash flow was up 33% to $238 million compared to $179 million last year. Meanwhile, WarnerMedia saw 2.5% year-over-year Q1 revenue growth to $8.7 billion on the strength of expanding streaming subscriptions, theatrical ticket sales, and other revenue sources such as video game licensing. CEO David Zaslav stated Warner Bros. Discovery will not engage in the entertainment industry's "direct-to-consumer spending war." DTC subscribers rose from 15 million at the end of Q1 last year to 24 million this year. The company can afford to make such choices. Both Discovery and WarnerMedia are experiencing rising revenue. Discovery adds a slew of well-known TV brands that include Oprah Winfrey's OWN channel, HGTV, and the Food Network. HBO's total subscribers reached 76.8 million in Q1 compared to 55.6 million at HBO Max's launch. I did that legwork, and though it's still early in the life of this global entertainment company, some key insights emerged. Last year, WarnerMedia delivered $35.6 billion in revenue, compared to Discovery's $12.2 billion. WarnerMedia brings a deep film history as its motion picture studio prepares to celebrate its 100th anniversary next April. It also touts globally recognized, iconic brands, such as the Harry Potter and Batman films.

Rare discovery: How a gene mutation causes higher intelligence (Science Daily)

When genes mutate, this can lead to severe diseases of the human nervous system. Researchers have now used fruit flies to demonstrate how, apart from the ...

It is estimated that 75 per cent of the genes involving disease in humans are also found in the fruit fly," explains Professor Langenhan, pointing to further research on the topic at the Faculty of Medicine: "We have started several joint projects with human geneticists, pathologists and the team of the Integrated Research and Treatment Center (IFB) AdiposityDiseases; based at Leipzig University Hospital, they are studying developmental brain disorders, the development of malignant tumours and obesity. "This gives us a tool to look at and even count individual molecules and confirms that the molecules in the firing cell are closer together than they normally are," says Professor Langenhan, who was also assisted in the study by Professor Hartmut Schmidt's research group from the Carl Ludwig Institute in Leipzig. This was essential in order to be able to study the changes in the human brain in the fly. "The project beautifully demonstrates how an extraordinary model animal like the fruit fly can be used to gain a very deep understanding of human brain disease. The scientists also found out how the increased transmission at the synapses occurs: the molecular components in the transmitting nerve cell that trigger the synaptic impulses move closer together as a result of the mutation effect and lead to increased release of neurotransmitters. "It's very rare for a mutation to lead to improvement rather than loss of function," says Langenhan, professor and holder of a chair at the Rudolf Schönheimer Institute of Biochemistry at the Faculty of Medicine.
