Everton vs Brentford LIVE - score updates and stream (Liverpool Echo)

Everton are in Premier League action against Brentford this afternoon as Frank Lampard's side continue their survival bid.

You get the feeling that Everton’s bench is going to be crucial here. His first since the end of August. Allan could be a safe option to bring on in his place. Everton are far too deep and inviting Brentford pressure at the minute. The Blues need to lift themselves and fast here. Can count himself very unlucky to have been sent off. Brentford are starting to build-up a head of steam and the Blues are struggling to get out. In the right place at the right time to get a touch on the first goal. Less than 30 minutes to go. They need to move up the pitch and look to hit Brentford on the counter. The midfielder is struggling to cope with the pace of the game. Frank Lampard urging his side to move up the pitch, but the Blues are struggling to get out at the minute.

High drama at Goodison Park as Everton score early, go down to 10 men, concede an own goal and then re-establish their lead from the spot. If the game ends like ...

"All of a sudden they've seen the pyros, the flags, heard the cheering. As the possibility of demotion started to become ever more pressing, a full fan mobilisation programme was begun. By the time Chelsea turned up at the beginning of May, the hundreds of fans arriving early had grown into thousands. "It's definitely not what we normally do," says Tony Scott, who hosts All Together Now, an Everton fan podcast. Will Everton end their flirtation with relegation this afternoon? When the coach carrying the Brentford team drives down Goodison Road ahead of Sunday's game against Everton, the players on board are in for a surprise. Right round the ground it will be like that: the entire neighbourhood awash with fans long before kick off, already in place, cheering on their team. Meanwhile it looks like Everton are playing 3-4-3 as opposed to 4-3-3, with Iwobi at wing-back. Gomes accidentally tees up Jensen as he tries to clear, but the Brentford midfielder can only send an improvised shot wide of the far post. On the follow-up, Richarlison somehow plants a header wide with the goal gaping. Brentford win a corner, his delivery falls for Wissa at the near post and he flicks a header over Pickford and into the far corner. He thrashed a low cross to Wissa, who did enough to force the ball into the net even if it will probably go down as an own goal.

DAZN subscribers can watch every single Premier League game in 2021/22 – and it gets better. If you pick up a fuboTV subscription for the games not on Peacock Premium, you'll be able to watch every game. To get around that, all you have to do is get a Virtual Private Network (VPN), assuming it complies with your broadcaster’s T&Cs. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and t'internet, meaning the service can’t work out where you are and won't automatically block the service you've paid for. There was a time when Brentford were starting to look nervously over their shoulder, but Thomas Frank has done a superb job in pulling them clear of trouble in recent months. Two of their final three games this season are at Goodison, where they have been reasonably strong throughout the campaign: Everton sit 11th in the Premier League home table, but only Norwich have accrued fewer points on the road. But a win that afternoon kick-started a revival which has seen Frank Lampard’s side take seven points from the last nine on offer.

Key home game for the Blues in battle for safety.

Gordon will take it himself, taken low and Richarlison gets a boot to it and it dribbles across the goal and into the far post!!! 31’ - Richy is down after a collision, and the Blues are down to nine men as Brentford play on. 24’ - Everton are now settling into a 4-4-1 formation, with Holgate and Coleman as the centrehalves, and Mykolenko and Iwobi as fullbacks. Incredible scenes here at Goodison, and even more incredibly the ref is not going to VAR there for the foul on Richarlison first?? Calvert-Lewin looks revitalized and is making a huge impact on this game. The Blues got off to a perfect start with that Calvert-Lewin goal, but then it all goes wrong with young Branthwaite sent off and the own goal. Now Myko gives away a corner tackling Mbeumo. Eriksen to take, hits it long, back into the box. Richarlison has given the Blues life again though and will batten the hatches in the second half. Eriksen dips it towards Pickford, the goalie does very well to beat it away in the face of pressure from Brentford players. 80’ - Everton are just sitting back in a defensive shell without the ball, but have been unable to really hold the ball when they do get it. 62’ - Gordon blocks a Henry cross, corner on the Everton right. Eriksen takes, low, Wissa beats Richy and gets his head to if first, it loops over Pickford and into the far post, 2-2, just like that.

Everton v Brentford: Premier League – as it happened (The Guardian)

Everton led twice against Brentford but finished with nine men and their fight for Premier League survival continues after the Bees' fightback.

On the follow-up, Richarlison is there with a header from close range, and he should arguably score, but sends the ball wide! 1 min: Everton start the match on the front foot. Brentford deal with a low cut-back from the byline and then embark on another foray into the hosts’ half. Everton seem to be able to deal with it, with Andre Gomes in position to intercept, although he only manages to divert the ball to Jensen, who cracks a shot wide from close range. 26 min: Brentford stroke the ball around in midfield before working it forwards to Wissa, up front. As it stands, Everton are staying up, but Eriksen is showing some lovely touches in midfield, and the hosts will have a massive amount of defending to do after the break. It was Sorensen who caught the Brazilian after a totally speculative ball was hoicked into the Brentford area. Richarlison pauses before hitting his penalty ... and strokes it high and into the centre of the net after the goalie dives to his own right. It was a cross-shot by Eriksen, and it could easily have flicked off a forward or a defender and levelled it up ... but the England goalkeeper does well. That was emotional – and well done to Brentford on another vibrant performance and another three points in the bag. Henry leaps high and handsome, above Gordon, and plants a brilliant header into the back of the net. Five minutes ago Everton were in position to secure their safety ... now they are heading back into the teeth of a relegation fight.

Everton 2-3 Brentford: Bees stage stunning fightback to deepen ... (Eurosport.com)

Brentford staged a stunning fightback to secure a 3-2 victory against Everton whose relegation fears were deepened at Goodison Park in the Premier League.

Unbelievable! Rondon has been on the pitch for a matter of minutes and the frontman has been given a straight red card, Everton's second of the match! A corner is whipped into the near post, Wissa rises highest and flicks the ball up and over Pickford and into the far corner of the net. Brentford have been growing into the game and make their pressure tell with an equaliser which has gone down as an own goal by Coleman. Toney flashed the ball across goal and the chance seemed to have gone. Henry was energetic, working hard to get up and down the pitch and got his just deserves with the decisive goal. Everton have two games to secure their Premier League status, starting with the visit of Crystal Palace to Goodison Park on Thursday evening. Brentford refused to lie down and turned the game on its head with two quickfire goals in as many second half minutes.

Everton vs Brentford: Match Preview | Toffees Need to Make Home ... (Royal Blue Mersey)

The Blues follow on from Wednesday's tentative goalless draw at Watford with a return to Goodison Park, hosting a resurgent Brentford outfit in this ...

A cautious approach and an acceptance of a point at Watford was understandable considering Everton’s season-long poor away form, but back-to-back matches at Goodison across the next four days will decide the team’s fate. Two home games at Goodison we’re happy with that, of course ’cause that’s where we do feel strong, but we absolutely respect the opponents in both games” The minute we switch off or you stop doing the good things you were doing this game can punish you” Mason Holgate re-established a two-goal cushion eight minutes later and the Blues put the icing on the cake with a late fourth, a trademark Andros Townsend strike from range in added time. Fitted with a cardioverter-defibrillator implant, it is inspirational how he has been able to play again and how Brentford are reaping the benefits. The aura he possesses has certainly rubbed off on his teammates also. Lampard has confirmed that Fabian Delph will be an absentee for today’s match. Since Eriksen’s first start for the Bees, against Norwich City, his side have tasted victory in six of their nine matches. Their remarkable turnaround can largely be attributed to signing free agent Cristian Eriksen, on the final day of the winter transfer window. The former Spurs’ man’s set-piece delivery alone has had a major impact on his team’s uptick in form. 1-0 up at halftime, courtesy of Yerry Mina, Richarlison sent Everton two-up shortly after the restart, only for the home side to be immediately pegged back by an Ivan Toney penalty. Brentford are in a very different place than they were when they last visited Goodison, in an FA Cup Fourth round tie that happened to also be Lampard’s debut as Blues manager.

Everton vs Brentford LIVE - final score, goals, highlights and reaction (Liverpool Echo)

Everton are in Premier League action against Brentford this afternoon as Frank Lampard's side continue their survival bid.

Everton are far too deep and inviting Brentford pressure at the minute. The Blues need to lift themselves and fast here. Less than 30 minutes to go. If another goal comes here it will be for the visitors. They need to move up the pitch and look to hit Brentford on the counter. You can talk all you want about defensive errors for Brentford's goals at Goodison Park and you'd be absolutely right, to be fair. Frank Lampard urging his side to move up the pitch, but the Blues are struggling to get out at the minute. The Goodison crowd seems to be in shock at what they are witnessing. They simply haven’t got going in the second-half and no need to find a way back into the game. The Blues need to make more of their set-pieces. The Blues could have acted differently in every situation to keep the ball out of the back of the net. Everton talking point from Adam Jones after the 3-2 defeat against Brentford in the Premier League at Goodison Park.

Everton boss Frank Lampard slates referee for missing 'clear ... (Daily Express)

EVERTON manager Frank Lampard believes his side were denied a clear penalty in the build-up to Jarrad Branthwaite being sent off against Brentford.

"To be here at Goodison again, hopefully with 11 on the pitch, and go for it ourselves. The Brazilian got up to convert the spot-kick and put his side back ahead. Substitute Salomon Rondon was then sent off for a reckless challenge to reduce Everton to nine men in the closing stages. It was set to be an uphill task for Everton from there on in and Brentford equalised through a Seamus Coleman own goal. Lampard had no complaints over the decision to send his defender off. However, he felt, just seconds earlier, his team should have been awarded a penalty.

Ref Watch: Should Everton have had another penalty vs Brentford ... (Sky Sports)

Should Tottenham have been awarded their penalty for a handball by Burnley striker Ashley Barnes? Did Gabriel Jesus deserve a penalty when Kurt Zouma made ...

The directives this season is that if it's shoulder height or above and it's away from the body, then [it's] a penalty [and they have] been given all season. The connection is made because Zouma is trying to block the ball, Jesus is spinning his body round and he's already going backwards with his feet. When anybody pulls a shirt they are taking a massive risk, but the ref felt Ajer was being pulled as well. Ironically, if they go back and give the penalty, Branthwaite would have stayed on the field. I would suggest that if Michael Oliver gave this as a penalty, the VAR would go with him. And would it have meant Braithwaite remained on the pitch?
