SAPS says an investigator has been prioritising the murder of Eastern Cape woman Namhla Mtwa, who was found dead inside her car in April.

Seemingly referencing this, SAPS said: “The SAPS appreciates the response of some members of the public who out of concern for issues relating to gender-based violence and femicide, approached the police with information. There has been a wave of reaction to the suspected killing of Namhla Mtwa on social media. “Members of the family and the public are therefore assured that Namhla’s case is in the hands of capable and professionally trained detectives.

As additional allegations about the late Namhla Mtwa surface, Eastern Cape Premier Oscar Mabuyane has called for rapid police action.

South Africans have taken to social media to call for justice for Singwa Namhla Mtwa who was shot 9 times in the driveway of her Mthatha home.

“I want justice to be served here in South Africa, many of our kids have been killed, especially women.
