On the reset, Stefan Ungerer loses concentration and spills it himself as he looks to snipe from the base. They go from touchline to touchline with forwards throwing miss passes and Shingler nearly getting down the blindside after a deft flick from Jonathan Davies. But the Stormers infringe at the lineout and the Scarlets can clear. Trademark Liam Williams there, getting over the ball in the wide channels. The match kicks off at 5.10pm and you can follow it below in our live blog below. Stormers infringe at the breakdown and we have the first penalty of the day. He rounds Tom Rogers and the Stormers are on the board. Stormers stick the kick-off out on the full. Scarlets piling the pressure on here, with the Stormers stuck in their own half a little. Stormers lineout goes awry and the Scarlets nip in to steal it. Stormers go for the lineout and get the drive on. Stormers get the penalty from the scrum to rub salt into the wounds.

The outside centre had an influential performance on attack and defence, which included a vital tackle to force a knock-on when Scarlets threatened to snatch the game late on. The Irish derby will decide whether the Stormers finish second or third on the table. Warrick Gelant was equally influential as he was typically at the heart of the Stormers attack, while he did excellently to intercept a pass when the Scarlets were on the attack just outside the Stormers 22.

Last-minute Ruhan Nel try gives Stormers top spot in SA, home ... (News24)

A last-minute try from Ruhan Nel gave the Stormers a win over Scarlets in Llanelli on Saturday night that secures them the South African Shield.

Scarlets found their groove, buoyed on by their home support, and the Stormers defence finally caved when Ryan Conbeer went over in the right corner. As the match progressed, the Stormers began to get stronger in all departments, and it seemed to be a matter of time before the Scarlets resistance caved. Libbok slotted the conversion, and the Stormers were 21-16 up and ahead for the first time in the contest.

Stormers dig deep to beat Scarlets in tension-filled URC clash in ... (TimesLIVE)

The Stormers had to dig deep in Welsh mining country before they came up trumps in the SA conference in the United Rugby Championship (URC) on Saturday.

That converted try handed the Stormers the lead for the first time in the match. That try stretched the home side's lead to 10 points and it served to slap the Stormers from their slumber. To be fair to the Scarlets it looked a well-rehearsed move that they executed to perfection. The fired-up Scarlets who had to win to clinch the Welsh conference and book their place in the lucrative Champions Cup next season, took the fight to the visitors. For most of their clash against the Scarlets they did not look the trendsetting team from SA but in the end they deserve kudos for salvaging the points they needed from the contest. They won a tension-filled encounter against the Scarlets with the last move of the match when Ruhan Nel crashed over to secure a hard-fought 26-21 bonus-point victory.
