4 things to watch for in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals (NBA.com)

Injury woes could once again impact both teams as the wildly unpredictable series shifts back to Miami for a critical Game 5 tied at 2-2.

But according to Second Spectrum tracking, the Celtics have scored 34 points on 25 possessions (1.36 points per possession) against Miami’s zone in this series. The Celtics have switched just 31% of ball screens in this series, down from 41% in the regular season and 55% through the first two rounds of the playoffs. In the last two games, they’ve tried playing Tucker at the five, but those minutes have been especially brutal. The Heat were also in a little bit of a rush … If anything good came out of Game 4 for the Heat, it was that Robinson made some shots. That coverage was partly a reaction to the Heat shooting 13-for-24 on pull-up jumpers in Game 1 against the Celtics’ “drop” coverage. On the Heat’s sixth possession of the game, they ran an empty-corner pick and roll, which is tougher to defend (because there’s no help behind the roll) and something that defenses usually switch. The wildest thing about Game 4 was that the Heat made six more 3-pointers than the Celtics and still lost by 20. After the Heat scored just six points on their first 11 possessions of Game 1, Tyler Herro checked in, drained a pull-up 3 and finished the first quarter with seven points and three assists. Two nights earlier, they were 24-for-36 (67%) in the paint. Herro wasn’t the only rotation player out in Game 4. But his ability to manufacture offense off the dribble can be critical, no matter what kind of defense the Celtics are playing.

Celtics vs Heat Game 5 Picks and Predictions: Miami Flexes ... (Covers.com)

NBA Playoffs odds, picks, and predictions for the Boston Celtics at Miami Heat on May 25. NBA betting free picks against the spread and Over/Under.

The Heat’s team total for Game 5 is a modest 101.5 points — a bar Miami has jumped over in all but four games this postseason and only once came up short at home. Heat predictions and picks in a single-game parlay, you could win $59.58 on a $10 bet? The Heat and Celtics will pick up where they left off in South Beach and put another Over winner on the board Wednesday. That led to just 15 personal fouls for Boston and only 14 free-throw attempts for visitors, which were averaging almost 22 FTA per game in the playoffs, and 21 per outing in the first three games vs. A different beast awaits the Celtics in South Beach for Game 5. An ice-cold opening quarter and lethargic offense from Miami were almost contagious in Game 4, as neither side showed much energy or urgency with the basketball. The Heatles also have veteran guard Kyle Lowry back in the mix after he missed time with a hamstring injury. Boston did, however, win the battle on the boards, and wrangled 14 offensive rebounds for 10 extra-chance points while also manifesting 13 points off just nine Miami turnovers. From there on, the focus was on getting home in one piece for Game 5. Even with Miami possibly packing it in early on Monday, the Celtics didn’t play exceptionally well. On Boston’s injury front, Marcus Smart sat Game 4 with a nagging ankle injury and is also a GTD Wednesday. Books pegged Miami as a 1-point home underdog for Wednesday and that spread has jumped to +1.5 at some markets.

The Celtics' defense was incredible at times, and played a big role in the Heat's struggles. Aside from making a few more shots, the big difference was that Tatum was more under control and the Celtics put him in better situations to succeed. With the series now tied at 2-2, action will shift back to Miami for a pivotal Game 5 on Wednesday night.

Gameday Rundown: HEAT vs. Celtics Game 5 (Heat.com)

Boston Celtics vs. Miami HEAT Wednesday, May 25 @ 8:30 PM Series Record: 2-2.

A huge portion of the game was decided by the HEAT winning the turnover battle, 23-8, and taking 22 more shots than their opponent, but this was a battle of the mind more than anything. In other words, precisely because the defense is so good and both teams have some inherent struggles in the halfcourt, we’re more likely than usual to see one run get extended as the other side is pushed more and more onto their heels. The HEAT ramped up the physicality on defense, found just enough shotmaking – Max Strus and Adebayo each hit a massive jumper after Boston closed to within one – and responded to one momentum-building one after another. Instead what we’re getting is a series where both defenses have indeed been great, but each game has seen one team lead by at least 20 – Boston’s near-comeback in Game 3 was the only real pushback we’ve seen from a big hole – because as soon as one defense gets rolling then the other team starts to struggle even more having to attack in the halfcourt, and the more that team misses the more the other side can try to push the pace. And in the end, that opening salvo offered a large enough lead to put Miami up 2-1 in the series. In winning the opening period, 39-18, the HEAT had just about as immaculate a start to a postseason game as you can possibly have. With Kyle Lowry back, his effect on the pace of the offense, both in the open floor and in the halfcourt, was immediately evident as he pushed into a trail three for Max Strus and followed that up a few possessions later with his traditional hit-ahead pass to Jimmy Butler. But apart from Lowry and some hot three-point shooting, the real boost to the offense was Bam Adebayo scoring about as well as he has ever scored. Both teams are going to come out of this one with plenty to like – Boston wound up winning three of the four quarters – and if you came into this game expecting a long series there wasn’t much on hand to dissuade you of that notion. And as usual – after Boston made a run with Butler off the court – he was there to bring it home down the stretch as he hunted the Payton Pritchard matchup relentlessly, holding the Celtics off with free-throws and jumpers. Boston was up by as much as they were up – 34 at the largest lead, but consistently over after their major runs – because they were hitting just about everything. Just as quick as Game 1 turned after the break when the HEAT rediscovered their own identity playing physical and precise defense and letting that effort power their offense, this time Boston was the team finding itself. He wasn’t alone in doing so, but there’s a level of pressure that Butler can apply to your offense that makes every pass carry just a little more inherent risk to it – an effect that played a major role as the HEAT’s defense fed their offense over and over and over again in the third quarter.

Celtics vs. Heat: Game 5 prediction, pick, TV channel, live stream ... (CBSSports.com)

After the two teams alternated victories through the first four games of the series, Game 5 between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics is set for Wednesday ...

Heat: The Heat have to get more from Jimmy Butler. After scoring 70 combined points in the first two games of the series, he has scored just 14 total points and made six total shots in the two games since. After blowing the Heat out in Game 4, the Celtics will look to build off of that momentum, while Miami will look to bounce back and protect their home court. After the two teams alternated victories through the first four games of the series, Game 5 between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics is set for Wednesday night.

Celtics vs. Heat Odds, Game 5 Preview, Prediction: Will Boston Grab ... (The Action Network)

Austin Wang previews Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Celtics and Heat that will be played on Wednesday, May 25.

The Heat may be great at home, but I still favor the Celtics in this game. He’s proved to be an X-Factor for Miami in the playoffs. The Heat are also ailing with a myriad of injuries. The Celtics came out with a sense of urgency in order to prevent falling into a 3-1 hole. However, it was promising to see White and Pritchard step up in Smart’s absence in Game 4. Or can the Celtics steal another game on the road to gain a 3-2 lead? As a result, Bam Adebayo took advantage of this with his playoff-high 31 points. Smart and Williams III are both questionable for Game 5. Potentially having two of their starters and best defenders out would be painful. On Wednesday, the Celtics and the Heat return to Miami for Game 5. Jayson Tatum had a fantastic outing, scoring 31 points on 8-for-16 shooting. Smart sat out Game 4, and the Celtics survived without him.

Boston Celtics vs Miami Heat Match Preview, Prediction, Betting ... (Sportskeeda)

The Miami Heat will host the Boston Celtics in Game 5 of an enticing Eastern Conference finals series at the FTX Arena on Wednesday, May 25, .

Boston struggles to bring intensity consistently, making them vulnerable on the road. The Boston Celtics looked virtually unstoppable in Game 4. After a tremendous performance in Game 3, the Heat were unrecognizable, as they managed only 82 points for the entire game. Considering that the C's put their defensive strength on full display, Miami looked completely out of sorts at the offensive end. With their scoring charge led by Jayson Tatum, who had 24 points in the first half, the Celtics held Miami to onlt 33 points. While things could be different at home in the next game, Miami has issues aplenty to ponder about.
