2 reasons why Riddle should be Roman Reigns' next challenger & 2 ... (Sportskeeda)

Roman Reigns proved to be the difference-maker in the hotly-contested Title Unification Match between The Usos and RK-Bro.

WWE would be wise to cash in on the hot challenger instead of giving other superstars like Riddle a title shot and keeping him waiting. Riddle has excelled as a tag team wrestler in the past few months. This will only come if he starts wrestling the best the company has to offer. We may even see a darker and more sinister side to him as he punishes the champion for what he did. There is no way WWE will have Reigns drop the title to him, and that takes away from the shine the match has. With The Bro losing his Tag Team Championship, the time is right for him to fight for another championship.

Are WWE Fans Ready For Another Part Time World Champion With ... (TheSportster)

Will WWE fans accept top guy Roman Reigns working a limited schedule as world champion?

To have The Rock be the one to beat Reigns when no one else couldn’t is a much bigger payoff. Reigns showed that he didn’t need to be a face to be the face. The natural decision to make, if Reigns is simply needing time off, would be to have him lose the belts. For years, Vince McMahon shoved the idea of Roman Reigns down our throats, insisting that he was next in line to be the face of WWE, a natural progression that would move on from John Cena’s dominance. It devalued the belt and the company’s talent, saying that the belt didn’t matter enough to be seen, and no one else was worthy of winning it. Was he retiring, keen to follow his cousin The Rock to Hollywood? Was he just thinking of taking a lighter schedule, giving up live events while still appearing on TV? Or was Reigns on the verge of taking a hiatus?

The Last 10 WWE PPV Main Events Not Involving Roman Reigns ... (TheSportster)

Note: The list doesn't include NXT events and Royal Rumble matches. 10 Drew McIntyre (c) Vs. The Miz (WWE Championship) - Elimination Chamber 2021.

This dream clash happened on the night one of WrestleMania 37 and was as good as it gets. Bobby Lashley won his first WWE Championship in 2021 and went on to defend it against Drew McIntyre in a series of matches. Day 1 was the PPV where the clash of Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns was meant to happen. The match exceeded every expectation and ended an already good night on a high note. Randy Orton brought back his Legend Killer gimmick in 2020 and Drew McIntyre was the man who took it upon himself to punish Orton for his deeds. Surprisingly, Orton managed to defeat the demon in a visually stunning way. The two locked horns at TLC in a weird match, that was no doubt entertaining. Drew McIntyre defended his WWE Title in the main event of Elimination Chamber 2021 and managed to stand tall following a hard-fought battle. The match was a 12-minute showcase of power where both stars displayed their strength. Speaking of Roman Reigns, he was still away from the promotion because of the COVID outburst and his health concerns. Roman Reigns performed on the same card when he fought an already exhausted Daniel Bryan and won the match in 96 seconds. Whether Reigns did perform on the PPV or not, it will always be a great achievement for any superstar to headline a Premium Live Event against a superstar not named Roman Reigns.

Who Exactly Is Roman Reigns' Best Rival In WWE History? (TheSportster)

Brock Lesnar Is Not Reigns' Greatest Rival, Although WWE Believes He Is · Reigns Has Faced Many Top Names Over The Years In WWE · Braun Strowman & Jey Uso Are Two ...

The story involved in their latest meetings, with the face and heel dynamic swapped, with the allegiance of Paul Heyman uncertain, was superior to in the past. Reigns’ WrestleMania main event against Triple H was poorly received, and the story leading up to it was very cliché and by the book, even with WWE trying to create another version of the Austin vs McMahon dynamic. The match itself was fantastic, with a Money in the Bank cash-in elevating it even higher, but this was the high point of their multi-year saga. Reigns may have had more major matches with Lesnar than anyone else, but their actual storylines and rivalries always flopped, making it hard to consider Lesnar as Reigns’ greatest rival, even though he is the most prominent. Following his controversial Rumble win, Reigns was public enemy number one in WWE, and his feud with Lesnar failed miserably in the build-up to WrestleMania 31. Even with several WrestleMania main events, multiple World Titles, and many other achievements, it is hard to pinpoint who Reigns’ best rival has been in WWE. There are certain names that WWE would want fans to think of as his greatest opponent, but the reality may be very different when looking at his feuds and rivalries over the course of his career.
