“These are some of the matches that I don’t like. “We have created a very good culture of trying to win every match that we play, we always go all out.” Matches where you are expected to win and everybody looks at you as the favourites to win the match are very difficult because you have a responsibility as a coach to intrinsically motivate the players so that they understand that the game is important as when we are playing against a big team,” said Mngqithi.

Sundowns will also be gunning for revenge after they were knocked out by Gallants (while they were known as Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila) in the semi-finals of this competition on penalties last season on their way to lifting the title. Bahlabane Ba Ntwa, on the other hand, made it to a second consecutive final after a narrow 1-0 win over neighbours Tshakhuma (who have inherited their previous name) in the semi-finals. Two of them were for Sundowns and both were set pieces that Lyle Lakay blazed over the bar. Before Phillip Ndlondlo was sent off for a second bookable offence in the 110th-minute, the second half of extra time wasn't drama-filled. And a scrap it was for large parts of the second half as opportunities came, but went as power and glory were sacrificed for accuracy. It was a hard-fought win that in the end, Sundowns deserved, but had to fight hard for their success, but an unnecessary pitch invasion that showed up the inadequacy of the security soured the end event. Five minutes later, Sirino tried to double the lead, but his chance went narrowly wide of Arubi's net. While it was scrappy, it also allowed the game to open up as they tried to outflank each other to the final third.
