In 2003, Magaisa was conferred with a PhD in Law from the same institution. Dr Magaisa had to take a leave of absence from the University of Kent in 2011, to be part of the constitution-making process. Dr Magaisa was a Law lecturer at the University of Kent in the United Kingdom.
