10 New Directions For WWE After Hell In A Cell 2022 (WhatCulture)

Here's where Vince McMahon goes next. 10. Baron Corbin Getting Repackaged. Cody Rhodes Drew McIntyre WWE Money In The Bank WWE.com.

Losing that 'No Holds Barred' brawl to Madcap Moss at HIAC should spell the end for this current version of Corbin. Characters are about to get the repackage treatment, new title contenders will emerge, heel turns could rock the women's scene, and old factions may become new again before too long. Some may argue that this was unnecessary, but Cody's entire story since returning has been built around a never-say-die attitude and willingness to go the extra mile as tribute to his father's legacy.

Best and Worst Booking Decisions of WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 (Bleacher Report)

Everyone will be talking about WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 for quite some time just due to Cody Rhodes wrestling with a torn pectoral, but that wasn't the only.

There wasn't a debut of a new member of the team, no one turned to join the opposing faction and nothing was on the line. But by stepping in the ring, Rhodes achieved something that will stick with him for the rest of his career. That is a discussion of safety worth talking about in and of itself. Happy Corbin, that's what needed to happen, and the specific way it went down was perfect. But since Theory already retained on Monday, why was this even on the card, rather than the more interesting title match coming up between Gunther and Ricochet for the Intercontinental Championship? After several attempts to get on MVP's good side for a reformation of The Hurt Business, Alexander was rejected prior to the match. Not every story has the villains get their comeuppance, but that is normally how most tales finish in and out of professional wrestling. It was a great decision to book Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch and Asuka in a Triple Threat match for the Raw Women's Championship, as those three met expectations with an awesome opening contest. It also means Omos can destroy Alexander on Raw in retribution to help put momentum back on his side. Asuka's only been back a month, but she's already lost twice to Belair and once to Lynch in her most recent matches. If he had won outright, it would have made Omos look weak for failing a third time, even with a two-on-one advantage. At worst, she'll be sidelined even more as WWE pivots to someone else after finally wrapping up the Lynch feud.

WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 results: Cody Rhodes beats Seth Rollins ... (Zee News)

Cody Rhodes won the match via a pin decision after hitting Seth Rollins with a sledgehammer. The main event of Hell in a Cell 2022 ended a great storyline ...

Madcap Moss defeated Happy Corbin in the Hell in a Cell match displaying a dominant performance. However, later the former Universal Champion stunned Ezekiel with a stunner to pin him for the win. In the match, right when Becky when about to pin Asuka after hitting her with a Manhandle Slam, Bianca was right on time to steal the winning opportunity. WWE superstar Bobby Lashley defeated Omos and MVP in a Handicap match, who were in a two vs one situation. Rhodes entered the match with one injured arm, but that didn't bother him to clinch the win in what was a high intensity contest between him and Rollins this week. The main event of Hell in a Cell 2022 ended a great storyline which started at Wrestlemania 38.

Hell In A Cell 2022: Every Match Ranked From Worst To Best (TheSportster)

WWE Hell in a Cell brought wrestling fans another action-packed pay-per-view. Let's review the best & worst matches from WWE HIAC 2022!

It was a great back and forth with a lot of high points as this one lived up to the billing with Liv Morgan standing out. Theory attacked the knee every chance he got, and that type of psychology helped make this a great encounter to watch. They used weapons well, with Happy Corbin refusing to bring out a table to frustrate the crowd, which was great work as a heel. It was never going to be a high-quality encounter as Omos isn't at that level yet, but he did put together an impressive performance, especially as he smashed Lashley through the barricade. Not everything on the night was perfect, but there were more positives than anything else, with a unique blend of matches that kept the show ticking on throughout the night. WWE's build-up towards the 2022 Hell In A Cell premium live event wasn't the strongest, but as is usually the case with these types of events, the in-ring product was brilliant, leading to a great show.

WWE Hell In A Cell 2022 Reaction: 5 Thoughts – TJR Wrestling (TJR Wrestling)

Looking back at WWE Hell in a Cell featuring Cody Rhodes working hurt against Seth Rollins, an entertaining Bianca Belair title defense and more.

I was laughing literally the whole time he came to the ring. You could see how much pain he was in when he hit those Cross Rhodes. I thought this was one of the greatest Hell in a Cell matches ever and that’s crazy considering Cody wrestled the whole match with one arm. Theory just won the United States Title, it’s his first defense on a PLE, but let’s just abandon all of that so Ali can win the title in his hometown? Bobby grabbed a fan’s replica WWE Title and raised it high in the air, signaling that he wants the title back. Deep down, I knew Theory was probably winning, but I still had hope that Mustafa Ali would win the title in his hometown. Ronda already has a date with Natalya, and they need six women for the Money in the Bank match, so I can see them having Ronda and Natalya at that show. I don’t know what’s next for Omos and MVP. The mystique with Omos died the first time Bobby took him off his feet. Bobby Lashley never officially lost the WWE Championship since he was taken out of that Elimination Chamber match by Seth Rollins. So, heating up Bobby Lashley as Roman Reigns’ next Undisputed WWE Universal Championship opponent seems like a good idea. Bobby Lashley took out Omos and then locked MVP in the Hurt Lock for the win. I know some don’t like her in the heel role, but her mic work and in-ring work has been nothing but stellar since returning. I imagine the rivalry between Bianca and Becky will continue since Bianca pinned Asuka. However, I can also see them getting Bianca another opponent at Money in the Bank or giving her the event off entirely. Obviously, the news of Cody Rhodes’ injury hours before the show put a heavy cloud over the night’s events ( John Canton’s detailed review is here) because we wanted to see how he would go through with this match.

5 takeaways from WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 (Sportskeeda)

Every match was at its worst extremely solid, and the best ones were simply fantastic. From a stupendous triple threat match for the RAW Women's Championship to ...

Hopefully, said return takes place on a stage as big as the Royal Rumble match. Now there is no doubt that Rhodes should be challenging for the world championship at some point. The American Nightmare worked on a level most people can only dream of while nursing a serious injury. Cody Rhodes is a bloody legend, and there are no two ways about it. We all know what happens when The Man and The Empress fight, and we can't wait to see the next chapter of their storied rivalry. All three women are top-tier competitors and any of them could have been booked to win the title. The opening match at WWE Hell in a Cell saw Bianca Belair take on Asuka and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match. To see Vince McMahon's protege operate on the level he is on at such a young age is extremely impressive, and we can't wait to see him take on new challengers soon. After weeks of being treated like dirt by Corbin, Moss finally received the chance to shut him up. Now that the smoke has cleared and the dust has settled, it is time to take a deeper look at what happened Sunday night. Every match was at its worst extremely solid, and the best ones were simply fantastic. The 2022 edition of WWE Hell in a Cell is over and done with, and what a show it was!

WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 - star ratings for each match (Sportskeeda)

#7. Bianca Belair def. Becky Lynch vs. Asuka in a Triple Threat Match for the RAW Women's Championship.

It was a hard-hitting bout considering the circumstances. Fans were behind the former Retribution leader, but it just wasn't meant to be on this occasion. Happy Corbin has been tormenting Madcap Moss since WrestleMania 38. Kevin Owens and Elias' younger brother Ezekiel collided at Hell in a Cell as their post-WrestleMania feud continued. It was an impressive victory for The All Mighty considering the odds were stacked against him in a Handicap Match. There was a lot of intrigue heading into the show, especially following reports prior to the event that Cody Rhodes had sustained a potentially serious pectoral injury.

- the minute-to-minute wrestling was thrilling, no matter that it didn't move the needle much story-wise. For a show lacking so many marquee superstars, you barely felt that absence thanks to the committed performances from the working roster and shocking lack of frustrating finishes - the latter basically a miracle for a WWE show at this point. Even as gimmick-themed events continue to be a bit of an oddity in WWE - only one Hell in a Cell match on the card, really?

5 Surprising Moments from WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 (Sportskeeda)

In Hell in a Cell's opening match for the RAW Women's Championship, Asuka, Bianca Belair, and Becky Lynch exceeded expectations. For 19 minutes, the three ...

The match ended with Rhodes hitting two Cross Rhodes on Rollins followed by a sledgehammer shot to the head. It might be a while before Cody Rhodes performs again, but we cannot deny that Sunday night moved him into the legendary stratosphere. It was quite the finish to the match and possibly the feud. The main event between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes will certainly go down in WWE history. Incredibly, Cody Rhodes won the Hell in a Cell match clean. The ending sequence of the RAW Women's Championship match was a clever and surprising one. The brief 12-minute match was quite the physical one. The news that Cody Rhodes had torn a pectoral muscle was devastating. If you also add in clean victories for Theory and Judgment Day, Hell in a Cell was a good night for evil. After the match, Bobby Lashley grabbed a replica WWE Championship from a fan and held it over his head. We had an amazing RAW Women’s Championship match, a riveting six-person tag match, and a brutal main event for the ages. It's rare to see bad guys win in clean fashion at a WWE premium live event.

2 things that went right at WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 (Daily DDT)

Hell in a Cell was a two-match show. Thankfully for WWE, both of those matches delivered, and some of the midcard matches did, too.

This Hell in a Cell main event between Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes wasn’t an easy match to sit through, and not because it was particularly violent. Hell in a Cell opened with the Raw Women’s Championship triple threat match between Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, and Asuka. Like most of the matches on the card, WWE didn’t put much effort into building this one up, but fans had high hopes for the match. At Hell in a Cell 2022, WWE primarily hoped that the two marquee matches that bookended the show would carry the pay-per-view.
