Eight minutes later, Shikabala was on the scene again as he pounced on a loose ball and smashed it into the back of the net to turn the game on its head. Al Ahly were shellshocked in the final quarter and had to dig deep to get back in the game as they attacked in numbers and with more urgency. The opening minutes saw both sides struggle to get a foothold in the game but it was Al Ahly who took the lead early.

The match between Ahly and Zamalek comes within the 20th round of the Egyptian Premier League for the current season 2021/2022. Liverpool was led by South African coach Pitso Mosumiani, before he quit the job last week. The top match in the Egyptian Premier League starts Sunday at eight pm against the al-Ahly and Zamalek football clubs.

Shikabala scored a second goal for Zamalek in the 75th minute after a beautiful run from Youssef Osama Nabih who crossed the ball but Shennawy failed to deal with the cross. Al-Ahly started the first half actively, and Mohamed Sherif succeeded in scoring the goal for the Reds in the 13th minute, after Mohamed Abdel-Ghani made a mistake and tried to return the ball to Mohamed Awad, but Sherif took the ball and brilliantly put it in the Zamalek net. Al-Ahly continued to dominate the match and missed a double opportunity to score a second goal through Mohamed Magdy Afsha, but Awad saved the ball and returned to Ahmed Abdel Qader, who shot it away from the net as well.

Zamalek: Tarek Hamed will undergo investigation over long absence (KingFut)

Zamalek sporting director Amir Mortada Mansour stated that midfielder Tarek Hamed will undergo investigation over his long absence.

“I respect all Zamalek players but I don’t know what Tarek is doing. “But Tarek took a lot of time to recover, and instead of four to five weeks, he took nearly three months to return to team training. “In January, Tarek was injured and his expected recovery time was four to five weeks,” Zamalek sporting director said.
