South Africa finally reached the summit of African women's football when capturing a first continental title in a steaming Rabat on Saturday night.

“Not just to us as a group but to the whole of South Africa, to the coaches that have come before, to the players that have come before. Tunisia and Zambia were the next victims in the quarters and semis, which saw the South Africans through to their sixth final. The South African men famously won their only African title back in 1996.
