The long-awaited Black Panther 2 trailer has finally dropped, and it shows a ton of new MCU action, along with a huge character reveal.

This new sequel film is going to wrap up Phase 4 of the MCU, so expect a ton of cameos and knowledge to be dropped leading into the next slate of shows and films. We might be seeing the anti-hero Namor that feels he is owed the land of Wakanda for some reason. It would make sense for her and Shuri to know one another, and Shuri might help in the creation of her armor. Either way, we are excited that Marvel is finally bringing in the classic character. Another thing of note is Shuri is shown shaking hands with Riri Williams. Willaims is better known in the comics as Ironheart. She is incredibly smart in the same way that Shuri is, as she builds her own Iron Man armor. Shuri was supposed to be the frontrunner, but that might not be true now.

Black Panther 2 Main Villain Actor Breaks Silence on 'Fantastic' Role (The Direct)

Tenoch Huerta revealed his thoughts on finally being announced as the MCU's Namor in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

Given Namor's powers and resources, the character could prove to be a valuable ally, similar to how Wakanda became a force to be reckoned with during Avengers: Infinity War. On top of that, Namor is also a member of the Illuminati alongside Doctor Strange, Iron Man, Reed Richards, Black Bolt, and Charles Xavier. is that, you know, for all the people involved and I think for the people in front of the screen, in the movies or their houses. While speaking with Access, Huerta revealed that his improvisation and his scenes with Letitia Wright's Shuri are his favorite parts about bringing Namor to life in the MCU sequel. Instead, Namor could end up becoming an anti-hero, thus allowing the character to develop in his future appearances. I want to be part of the inspiration for other kids, for other people. Me and I hope for the rest of the people. We make art because art heals the wounds and it works for everything is… It was like, ’Yeah, we’re talking about the same thing and we are healing, historically I mean, the same wound. Namor's involvement in Black Panther 2 also means that the long-rumored war between Wakanda and Atlantis will happen on the big screen, with the trailer showcasing scenes between two warring nations. "It’s a big moment and it’s a perfect place to be introduced. It’s a wonderful experience to be here and to be part of this family.

Black Panther 2's Namor Describes Putting On Costume For First Time (Screen Rant)

Actor Tenoch Huerta describes how it felt to put on Namor's iconic speedo for the first time for the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

It will also be interesting to see what ramifications Wakanda and Atlantis' war has on Phase 5, as the two once-secret nations clash. Namor appears different in the trailer from the comic traditions in that Atlantis seems to be located near South America and Namor and the other Atlanteans wear distinctly Mayan-inspired outfits. The character has a long history in the comics which could be explored in the MCU. It will be interesting to see how Huerta's voice adds to the Sub-Mariner's character who is known for righteously defending his home. The Black Panther 2 trailer featured much of the cast from Black Panther who will be returning for the sequel, including Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, and Angela Bassett. The new trailer also offered the first look at Huerta's Namor, officially confirming the character's introduction to the MCU for the first time. While at SDCC 2022, Variety asked Huerta how it felt to don Namor's iconic speedo for the first time. The Black Panther 2 trailer teased that Namor will be the main antagonist of the film, as Wakanda and Atlantis go to war.

A brief glimpse we get of somebody in the Black Panther suit. “Letitia has been recovering in London since September from injuries sustained on the set of Black Panther 2 and is looking forward to returning to work early 2022,” Wright’s representative told THR. “This situation should never have happened,” Coogler said in a March 9 statement, adding that Bank of America “worked with me and addressed it to my satisfaction and we have moved on.” And of course, we felt it so much making this film without him.” The most exciting part of the trailer? Four years after the original movie debuted, a trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is released at San Diego Comic-Con. “For us as a cast, having lost our king, Chadwick Boseman, that was a lot to process, and in many ways, we’re still processing it,” Nyong’o told The Hollywood Reporter. “When you lose someone, I don’t know when you stop missing them. Boseman was a fan of the Black Panther comics ever since his undergraduate years at Howard University. After his death, Coogler restructured the Black Panther 2 story line to memorialize the actor. However, the sticker system would not affect Black Panther 2, as it was already in production. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and its elusive plot — with Michaela Coel in tow — will premiere in theaters on November 11, pending any other obstacles. THR also wrote that Disney would roll out a sticker system in October that would indicate which crew members received the vaccination. December 2020 Shuri actor Letitia Wright retweeted a now-deleted transphobic, anti-vaxx video from YouTube channel On the Table. Wright endorsed the video with a prayer-hands emoji before responding to the ensuing backlash. Despite their urging, Coogler announced in December 2021 that T’Challa would not be recast. Black Panther 2 Is Coming. Here's What We Learned From the ... (CNET)

Wakanda mourns its king, Namor the Sub-Mariner makes his appearance, and someone else (Shuri?) dons the Black Panther costume. Gael Fashingbauer Cooper.

An important member of the Black Panther world won't be returning: Daniel Kaluuya told Rotten Tomatoes in July that he did not reprise his role as W'Kabi, who is T'Challa/Black Panther's best friend. Chadwick Boseman captivated audiences in 2018's Black Panther playing T'Challa, king and protector of the fictional nation of Wakanda. But unbeknownst to fans, the actor had been diagnosed with colon cancer even before the first film came out, and tragically, he died on Aug. 28, 2020, at just 43. "Now he takes his place alongside them as an icon for the ages." Tenoch Huerta is playing Namor the Sub-Mariner, a longtime favorite character from the comics. At 1:33 in the trailer, Riri Williams/Ironheart is seen, played by young actress Dominique Thorne. She seems to be building her own Iron Man-style suit, and is shown cutting out a heart symbol, signifying her name. Many have speculated that this is Shuri, taking over the role from her late brother, but of course Marvel's not letting that spoiler slip too early. T'Challa's sister Shuri (Letitia Wright) and mother Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) are seen walking somberly in what appears to be a funeral procession, with Shuri holding the Black Panther helmet. Or could Shuri be thought dead in the film's setting, due to some other event? An anguished Queen Ramonda is heard screaming that she is the queen of the world's most powerful nation, and her entire family is gone. Atlantis itself seems to be inspired by the Maya civilization. Director Ryan Coogler is returning to direct Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, the sequel to 2018's blockbuster hit, and the film will hit theaters on Nov. 11, 2022. A pregnant woman is seen, and then she appears to be giving birth underwater.
