TS Galaxy claimed the scalp of another Tshwane outfit after defeating SuperSport United 2-0 Sunday evening. DStv Premiership.

United remained in attack and Nhlapo came close to pulling a goal back in the dying minutes with a thumping volley from just outside the box that was incredibly kept out towards the top corner by Buthelezi. Hunt's men threatened with early crosses inside the box and Bradley Grobler had a chance to pull a goal back on 73 minutes after a delivery by Johannes but his powered header was smothered by Buthelezi and Grobler was immediately replaced by Thamsanqa Gabuza for fresh legs in the closing stages. The game opened up as Matsatsantsa also threatened and Kegan Johannes was unfortunate not to break the deadlock for Gavin Hunt's charges eight minutes before the half-time break with a powerful header that was punched off the line by shot-stopper Melusi Buthelezi.

TS Galaxy surged up to second on the DStv Premiership table on Sunday after a convincing win over SuperSport United in Mbombela.

The Mpumalanga-based side bossed the possession, looked dangerous on attack and were a level above a SuperSport side that looked out of their depth. Typical of any Hunt side, Matsatsantsa were at their most dangerous at set-piece time and Galaxy goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi produced a magnificent save to keep the two sides level in the 37th minute. The hosts piled on the pressure for the majority of the first half and their pressure reaped rewards when Msimango rose the highest to convert a well-delivered corner.

Sebelebele almost made it 3-0 in stoppage time after receiving the ball from Orebotse Mongae inside the box, but Pule was well placed to keep him out. The Tshwane giants were quickly out of the blocks in the second half as Webber latched onto a cross from Lungu and fired over the target from inside the area in the 46th minute. Buthelezi was also required to keep out Kegan Johannes's header from Aubrey Ngoma's cross on 37 minutes and it proved a crucial save as Galaxy hit the front in the 43rd minute, Msimango climbing highest to power a header past Pule from a corner.

Hunt frustrated as win continues to elude SuperSport (Citizen)

A first win still evades Gavin Hunt in his return at SuperSport United as The Spartans suffered a 2-0 loss at the hands of TS Galaxy.

Teto played the ball across the face of goal and had to watch it sail past goalkeeper Pule and a couple of United defenders before it found Seedat wide on the left. It was Teto again who was the provider, but Seedat did his best to rescue what looked like a stray ball. Bradley Grobler had an opportunity at the start of the second stanza when he received a delightful ball from Ghampani Lungu but the former Bafana Bafana striker fluffed his chance and fired wide of goalkeeper Melusi Buthelezi.
