Sekhukhune looked to have gone into game management mode, and made a defensive substitution with the introduction of Denwin Farmer. Khuliso Mudau and Aubrey Modiba were presented with some of the best chances in the game as the half-hour mark approached, but were unable to keep their shots on target. Penned back, Sekhukhune camped in their half and looked to keep the reigning league champions at bay.

Mamelodi Sundowns would be hoping to build up on last weekend's big win over Kaizer Chiefs when they visit Sekhukhune United.

Sundowns have scored six goals in three league games so far and they face a Sekhukhune side which has conceded two goals in the campaign. But Sekhukhune are yet to lose at home and would want to maintain that record. But what could give Sekhukhune confidence is that Sundowns are not invincible after they were stunned 1-0 at home by TS Galaxy just before the Chiefs victory.

Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune walked away from their DStv Premiership clash at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane with a point each.

It sent the home side's fans at the Peter Mokaba Stadium wild with excitement and for a while Sundowns' players seemed stunned by the setback. It was the first time Sekhukhune had scored a goal against Sundowns in the Premiership after three matches. However, Themba Zwane and Gaston Sirino, Shalulile's partners in the three-prong attack, undid the Sekhukhune defence in front of goal.

โ€œWe kept chasing and gave them all the possession but i,,, we knew that we had to take the game to them because we were playing at home and we had nothing to lose. One wonders what head coach Kaitano Tembo told his players during the break as they came out with more motivation and did not take much time to get the equalizer. The Namibian snipper netted his third goal of the season after he opened his account with a brace against Kaizer Chiefs last weekend.

Sundowns completely dominated the opening half while Sekhukhune looked like they came with a plan to just sit back and make sure that the defending champions donโ€™t score. Nasir, who has impressed in his previous two appearances off the bench where he even scored against Chiefs, didnโ€™t make the match day squad due to injury. There were a number of Ethiopian fans at the stadium that came to see their home boy Abubeker Nasir, who has made a great impression in a short space of time in SA.

DStv Premiership Report: Sekhukhune United v Mamelodi ... (Soccer Laduma)

Mamelodi Sundowns dropped points for the second time this season after drawing 1-1 with Sekhukhune United on Saturday afternoon.

The visitors occupied Sekhukhune in and around their box and Mbule came close to getting the winner in the last minute with a volley that was acrobatically saved by goalkeeper Toaster Nsabata, as Tembo's men held on for the share of the spoils. The Brazilians patiently built their play from the back and were able to open up a low lying defence by Sekhukhune and on 17 minutes Peter Shalulile found the back of the net after a through ball by Aubrey Modiba but the goal was disallowed for offside. Sekhukhune quickly found the equaliser within a minute from the break after Linda Mntambo guided a first-time shot over shot-stopper Ronwen Williams towards the top corner after a through ball by Mabasa.
