Report and highlights from the Sky Bet Championship clash between Luton Town and Sheffield United at Kenilworth Road as Oli McBurnie scored his first league ...

I thought we were the team that were going to go on and win it. "When you look back at the day, I'm not disappointed because it is a good point here, especially after being behind. I've just watched a few of the things back and everywhere we knew there would be a threat, that's what caused us the problems. Sheffield United are a top-six side but, tonight, we've showed that we are as well and we're back to where we have been." The 30-year-old ran tirelessly, was a creative force and could, quite easily, have had one goal himself. Sheffield United never really got going in the first half, though.

Luton 1-1 Sheffield United: Oli McBurnie's second-half volley earns ... (Daily Mail)

ADAM SHERGOLD AT KENILWORTH ROAD: McBurnie ended his long wait for a goal as Sheffield United took a point from Luton on Friday night.

After such a long wait, it was little wonder he wanted to celebrate with the travelling fans behind the goal he scored into, earning a booking for his exuberance. After a couple of scrambles inside the Luton box, McBurnie with a nicely-executed volley after Tommy Doyle nodded the ball back into the danger area and John Egan flicked it on. But he certainly atoned on 10 minutes. Luton didn't take their foot off the gas for the remainder of the first-half and were clearly the superior side as the Blades struggled to gain a foothold. Jones was lauding the variety in his attack during the week, believing it to be arguably the best in the Championship, and Morris, a summer signing from Barnsley, and Elijah Adebayo certainly represent a formidable pairing. Carlton Morris fired Luton ahead with a header after 10 minutes, his second goal of the season

Sheffield United: The footballing phrase manager Paul ... (The Star)

It has become one of the most overused phrases in football, popular among television analysts, armchair pundits and journalists alike.

“They will be on the front foot and we need to ready ourselves for that but impose ourselves as well.” But unlike United, they have made a slow start to the present campaign, although Heckingbottom insisted Saturday’s 2-0 win over When [Reading](https://www.reading.gov.uk/) travel to Bramall Lane next week, they could do something different. The Blades were hit by an injury blow with 18 minutes to go, as goalkeeper Foderingham was forced off and 21-year-old Jordan Amissah came on for his first-team debut. The Blades continued to look for a leveller, McBurnie unable to divert George Baldock’s cross on target, while Max Lowe sliced waywardly when the ball broke to him just outside the area. McBurnie last found the net in a league game in a 2-1 top-flight defeat to Leicester, while his only goal last term came in the Carabao Cup against Southampton, when he scored an equaliser to force a penalty shoot-out the Blades ultimately lost.

Report | Luton Town 1-1 Sheffield United (lutontown.co.uk)

Carlton Morris scored as Luton Town held league leaders Sheffield United to a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road on Friday night.

Morris came close to his and Luton’s second of the evening on the 70-minute mark. Cameron Jerome was brought on for Town’s first switch of the game, as the 36-year-old replaced Morris. Allan Campbell made a surging run and found Morris with his cut-back, but the striker’s finish was over the crossbar. And they would find their equaliser from the resulting corner. Adebayo continued to threaten for the Hatters, and came close with another effort on goal, as he saw his floating header drift just over the bar. Oli McBurnie levelled in the second half for the Blades, as both sides had to settle for a point each.

Mark Duffy says he's spoken to John Fleck about his latest injury blow (Sheffield United News)

Former Sheffield United midfielder, Mark Duffy, has taken to Twitter to give an injury update on Blades midfielder, John Fleck.

It’s going to be a big few months for United. Fleck will simply be guided by the medical team and leg fractures can be a case of healing quickly or taking their time to get completely right. Heckingbottom noted the club are looking at months rather than weeks when it comes to Fleck’s return.

Not only does Rocky upset the odds to beat Drago but he does so after silencing the inhospitable home crowd in Moscow with a display of bravery, courage and no little skill. One win in ten outings is enough to cause doubt in even the surest of minds. There has been progress under Heckingbottom in terms of making United more of an attacking threat on the road. Adebayo then twice went close later in the half, a right wing cross from [James Bree](https://theathletic.com/football/player/james-bree-zZrCNEDQQaI0dXna/) just evading the on-rushing Luton striker before he fired wide a few minutes later when presented with an excellent shooting chance. If so, maybe the United squad should take a leaf out of McBurnie’s book. Only twice in those 16 away outings under Heckingbottom have United led at the break. Despite that, United’s attacking metrics on the road this season remain way down compared to those at the Lane. [Watford](https://theathletic.com/football/team/watford/). He does want United to play on the front foot. Looking back at the end of the season, it will be seen as a good one.” Now, disparities between home and away records are as old as the game itself. They have also come almost exclusively on the road.

Paul Heckingbottom issues major injury update on Sheffield United ... (Football League World)

Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom has revealed that midfielder John Fleck is facing months on the sidelines with a fractured leg.

So he’s got a fracture, and he’s going to be out for a while.” He's going to be a while. This injury though is a big setback for the midfielder in that sense, and you wonder just how this could affect the final days of the transfer window for the Blades, as the injuries continue to mount up. Given the way that Fleck has started the season, it is a big blow for Sheffield United to lose his influence for such a long period of time, which could have an impact on the battle for promotion. Now it seems as though the blow that kept him out of that game, is going to ensure he is on the sidelines for some time to come yet.
