Shakes rocks and rolls for SA (SARugbymag)

Two tries from Siviwe 'Shakes' Soyizwapi helped World Sevens Series leaders South Africa open their LA campaign with a win over Canada on Saturday.

Anton Ngongo notched another try for Canada before the hooter as the Blitzboks held on for a 22-17 win. But, Soyizwapi showed great pace and power to bag his second five-pointer, and fortune favoured the South Africans with a Webster try denied by the TMO. Josiah Morra pulled one back for the Canucks on the stroke of half time, and Brock Webster doubled their try tally within a minute after the restart to cut the deficit to five points.
