He finally did and Reigns went for the Spear but then he ran into a boot from McIntyre only to bounce off the ropes and spear McIntyre, but McIntyre kicked out from the cover. Reigns then locked in the Guillotine again in the center of the ring, but McIntyre wouldn't fade, and he slammed Reigns into the corner one more time. Reigns taunted the crowd and McIntyre hit with more big chops to the chest, but Reigns connected with more strikes and knocked him back down to the mat. Reigns then connected with numerous forearm strikes to McIntyre and then threw him into the post. Reigns collected himself and locked up with McIntyre and drove him back, but then McIntyre collided with him and sent him backwards, causing him to roll out of the ring. That ended up being Karrion Kross and Scarlett, and McIntyre got in his face a bit, giving Reigns the opening to hit McIntyre and knock him to the floor.
McIntyre came within inches of winning the undisputed title in a match that saw involvement from Tyson Fury.
Rollins then tried to hit an RKO, but Riddle blocked the move and began to brutally attack Rollins with strikes before trying to hit Rollins with a chair. As Rollins rolled out of the ring, he was hit with a kick to the face before Riddle hit a Floating Bro to the outside. Fury then helped McIntyre to his feet and raised his hand before getting on the mic to tell McIntyre he did the country proud before singing "American Pie." The two then brawled, both hitting big moves before McIntyre hit a spear and a Claymore, seemingly having the match won when the referee was dragged from the ring by Solo Sikoa, the younger brother of The Usos, setting Reigns up for a spear to retain the title. McIntyre continued to take the fight to Reigns, clotheslining him over the top rope before throwing him into the barricade, ring apron and ring steps on the outside. Looking for a way to keep McIntyre down, Reigns locked in a guillotine choke but McIntyre smashed him into the turnbuckle to break the hold, only for Reigns to immediately lock it in again. Rollins then finished off the match with a stomp off the second rope for the win. Bayley then hit a Rose Plant and SKY hit a moonsault to allow Bayley to score the pin. Rollins hit a superplex and rolled through looking to continue the momentum, but Riddle was able to reverse into a fisherman buster and a knee to the jaw. Morgan was able to reach the ropes to break the hold and shortly after hit Oblivion to score the win. Baszler tried to stomp on Morgan's arm, but Morgan locked in a triangle and then an armbar to nearly score the submission. Baszler stomped her way out before a knee to the jaw nearly scored her the victory.

Roman Reigns got on the mic and asked Cardiff to acknowledge him. This was a clever heel turn after Dominick Mysterio helped Edge and Rey win, making it seem like WWE was going to delay the heel turn even more. The story of this match (Rollins using Matt Riddle’s anger against him) was great as this match got better the longer it went. Clash at the Castle saw the debut of Solo Sikoa, who cost Drew McIntyre the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. He did not wrestle in the mask. Dominick finally pulled the trigger on a heel turn, low-blowing Edge and clotheslining Rey Mysterio. Gunther set the bar for match of the weekend. He’s running away with Announcer of the Year. WWE used her as a dominant steamroller in NXT, but she has never been able to build the same momentum on the main roster. The turn was necessary, but where he goes from here is the mystery. He turned on them and then walked away on his own, so WWE is clearly torn on what to do here. However, his time in the main event picture has been much more limited in recent years. For the past several years, Sheamus has been one of WWE's most reliable and consistent performers. And fans of the main roster will now also get to enjoy their dominant style.
Solo Sikoa cost Drew McIntyre the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WWE Clash at the Castle.
As the more aloof, more calculating, and more dominant Head of the Table, Reigns carried the company on his back. WWE delivered in promoting its main event, airing a series of vignettes chronicling McIntyre and Reigns en route one of WWE’s biggest main events in years. With exclusively predictable results—where all of the favorites went over—and no surprise returns, Clash at the Castle came off as more of a house show. With a massive crowd on hand at Principality Stadium, the table was set for WWE to replicate a doubly historic win: A WWE aired a “Broken Dreams” video package prior to the match starting as the partisan crowd was solidly behind the hometown hero. The match saw the debut of Solo Sikoa, who pulled the referee out of the ring just as it seemed McIntyre was going to finally defeat Roman Reigns.

It's that sort of synergy that makes an event a classic, to the point that even a colossal misfire of a show-ender can't tarnish things too much. None of this is to say Clash at the Castle won't be remembered by fans with a smile. The fact that fans went in expecting this sort of finish isn't exactly a great look for WWE's main event scene or even its biggest events. This is Reigns' GOAT-making run and the company still has eyes for The Rock at WrestleMania 39 in Inglewood, California. There, Edge and Rey Mysterio, with an assist from Dominik Mysterio, picked up a win in tag action over The Judgment Day. In front of an electric crowd, the six-woman tag match that started the show was fun and did much to propel Damage Control (Bayley, Dakota Kai, and Iyo Sky), the new hottest faction in WWE.
Everything you need to know ahead of the WWE Clash at the Castle pay-per-view this Saturday.
Pick: The Judgement Day wins -- Mahjouri (also Brookhouse) There has been a desire to see the intercontinental title return to its former glory. Pick: Gunther retains the title -- Mahjouri (also Brookhouse) Rollins has gotten over on Riddle too many times in a row and now Riddle needs to get the win here to re-establish himself. Pick: Liv Morgan retains the title -- Brookhouse (also Mahjouri) Baszler gives Morgan the opportunity to face a Rousey-style opponent from the world of MMA and prove she can hang. The SummerSlam match with Ronda Rousey was something of a disaster, with Morgan winning because the referee missed her tapping out -- which is a terrible way to book a babyface champion. The SmackDown women's title and intercontinental championship will also both be on the line. Theory could cash in and take a pinfall, leading to some sort of convoluted outcome where Reigns and McIntyre split the two world titles. It's a big show with major stakes and the continuation of big storylines. Unfortunately, this match is set up with both belts on the line and I don't see WWE moving them both off of Reigns. The cut a promo earlier this week similar to that of UFC legends Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier where they were interviewed in separate rooms and screaming at each other.
Reigns defeated Drew McIntyre in dramatic fashion, plus Liv Morgan and Gunther retained their titles in Cardiff.
Gunther has a solid amount of potential challengers, but with Imperium returning, the reunion offers not only a new wrinkle in the Smackdown tag division, but it also gives way to the real possibility of Imperium vs. When it looked like he would take the IC title with a Brogue Kick, Sheamus' back wouldn't give, leading to a second powerbomb from Gunther and a lariat which would make Stan Hansen proud for the three-count. Gunther told Sheamus he would chop him down until he was red and the Intercontinental champion delivered his promise with several open-palm and knife-edged chops to the chest, turning Sheamus a bright red. Baszler challenged for a title for the first time in over 900 days, and this felt like a filler feud for Morgan. He attempted an inverted superplex but settled for a two-footed stomp with Riddle in the Tree of Woe. McIntyre sent Reigns through the barricade with a spear of his own, followed by a Claymore attempt inside the ring, but Roman replied with a second spear. He attempted a chair shot with Rollins on the announce table but missed, leading to the pair of stomps that ended matters. Unable to secure the pinfall, Reigns went for a submission with the guillotine, but McIntyre escaped by driving Roman into the turnbuckle. He hit McIntyre with a Uranage but Drew responded with the Future Shock DDT. Reigns then told the crowd to "Acknowledge Me" before McIntyre connected with the first of many Glasgow Kisses. Heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury consoled McIntyre and led the crowd in a rendition of his trademark cover of "American Pie." Before a second referee could ring the bell, Fury connected with a big right hand that left Theory knocked out in a heap.

The match got a standing ovation during it and Sheamus got one afterward in what was one of the show’s best contests. It provided the opening Rollins needed for an eventual Stomp off the top to get the 1-2-3. She ended up frustrating Baszler enough to catch her with a Codebreaker – which Rousey has showed Baszler how to counter – and then the ObLIVion for the win. Either way, a giant spotlight is now on Dominik, and he will be given the chance to take his career to the next level. Gunthar and Sheamus was stiff, they battled on the outside, chests were left red and the Cardiff crowd being fully behind the challenging Irishman trying to finally become a grand slam champion, only leveled up the drama of the numerous finishes. Dominik should feel sick of Edge seemingly taking his place next to Rey, his dad not trusting him to be his partner for this match and ruining the good thing that had going on. I get having the champions getting a moment for WWE, but Reigns clearly needed interference to win and that doesn’t deserve a handshake. McIntyre may not have won, but he did get to sing in the ring with Fury after the match and got a great reaction from the fans after lobbying for this show for years. After doing everything he could to ensure his father Rey and Edge defeated The Judgement Day’s Finn Balor and Damian Priest, he then for some reason chose this moment to turn on his dad and Edge. While going into the match, the thought was Karrion Kross – who was ringside – may cost McIntyre the championship and his moment in front of a U.K. Dominik’s turn coming after he helped his dad and Edge to win made it even more of a shock but added to the awkwardness that now needs to be fully explained. Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre delivered a main event for the Undisputed Universal championship befitting of the stage and the moment.

Drew McIntyre came closer to winning the undisputed title at WWE Clash at the Castle only for Reigns to retain the belts with help of cousin.
The battle got intense with Reigns could only get two-count with a Rock Bottom to McIntyre. McIntyre took the fight to Reigns before a small distraction from Karrion Kross gave Reigns the advantage. Rollins gained an early advantage in the match when he drove Riddle into the ringside barricade with a powerbomb. After several exchanges, Rollins hit Riddle with a pedigree for a two-count. Rey eventually made the tag Edge who surprisingly hit Balor with a 619 before Mysterio hit a splash for a two-count. Despite an attack from Rhea Ripley, Dominik provided an assist to his father Rey with distraction helping him hit a 619 on Balor. The match started with Baszler trying to attempt an early armbar on the WWE SmackDown women's champion. Morgan hit Baszler's head into the turnbuckle using a running powerbomb, however, Baszler fought back and quickly used Kirifuda Clutch and an armbar on Morgan. Sheamus had another near fall with a Celtic Cross only for Intercontinental Champion Gunther to finish the match with a brutal lariat. The turning moment of the match came when Montez Fort hit a blockbuster over the top rope to the outside of the ring as Chad Gable was held on Angelo Dawkins' shoulders. Sheamus after making a comeback nearly won the match after hitting White Noise. Asuka and Bliss, with the help of Belair’s back, took out Bayley by executing a double suplex.

He recovered and delivered his own Spear back in the ring for a dramatic two-count. That will not change, and this was Reigns' match to win because propelling things forward with the addition of Sikoa to The Bloodline is a bigger development than McIntyre winning the title. - The crowd's love of the Scot was awe-inspiring. He knows exactly when to throw his shoulder off the mat to maximize the drama, and the result is often a contest that has fans completely invested. Solo Sikoa debuted in the closing moments, pulling the referee out of the ring and preventing a three-count following one last Claymore from McIntyre. The transitions, counters and reversals were great, and Riddle barely rolling his shoulder off the mat during near-falls was a nice touch. Like Rollins and Riddle, Reigns and McIntyre have wild in-ring chemistry, developed from working house shows and TV dark matches against each other for the better part of a year. In this case, predictable is far from bad as The Role Model is a genuine star and the most logical option to challenge for the gold. The second-generation competitor badly needed to break free from his father and turn heel, if only to establish his own identity. Hard strikes, heavy-hitting moves and a couple of near-falls followed before the Irishman attempted a Brogue Kick. The match was a good David vs. isolated Asuka and cut her off from the rest of her team.

From Tyson Fury to Adrian Street, the stars were out for the United Kingdom's first stadium show in 30 years as Roman Reigns and Sheamus impress.
The matches delivered, and even with the disappointing finish, this was still a very enjoyable show. Somehow, at the age of 48, Edge continues to look spectacular in the ring. Morgan won, but the outcome was never in doubt. Sheamus won over the crowd with his performance, but Gunther won the match. This was a showcase for all six women, especially for the heels. He was never afraid to beat his body up in order to get people invested and bring that believability into his work. Considering Bret Hart was present, at WWE’s very first UK stadium pay-per-view since Hart defended the IC title in the main event 30 years ago, all signs pointed to Sheamus winning the belt. You’d believe he was getting the crap kicked out of him, and then he’d come back. The most likely match to involve a title change was Gunther defending the Intercontinental championship against Sheamus. That role is typically filled by The Usos, so Sikoa was a new twist, but it was has become too predictable that Reigns is going to prevail due to help from his friends. Those two elements were ignored in the Clash at the Castle main event. The two men then held a singalong with the crowd—yes, you read that correctly—as the show went off the air.
The capital of Wales was more than ready to host the WWE's first UK stadium event in 30 years.

WWE Clash at the Castle offered wrestling fans a fun night of sports entertainment. Let's review every match from the Cardiff Clash, ranked!
This was easily the match of the night, Hands Down. This match was a huge fan service for the crowd in the Principality Stadium. The match started with a bang with both the factions going right into a brawl while their leaders had a stare-down. Gunther retained in the end with the help of a rocking lariat. Back to back near falls, with Drew even kicking out of two spears made it seem as if a new champion was on the horizon. The highlight of the match is Edge hitting a perfectly timed 619. Along with the in-ring action, what made this even better was the psychological warfare between the two. This match kicked off the main show and was indeed the perfect choice for the show. The match ended when Morgan picked up the surprise victory after pinning Shayna with a codebreaker into oblivion. This match was announced just a few hours before the show and served its purpose. The match saw its finish after Damage Control hit the Raw Women’s Champion with the Triple-Attack, hence resulting in Bayley pinning Belair in the process. The event, felt like WWE’s main roster version of a TakeOver, considering how each match got enough time and room to tell the desired story.
The WWE's first UK PPV in decades was solid, yet not historic.
Much of the card had an oddly low-hype feel to it, yet this was considerably compensated for by the generally high standard of wrestling on offer. Madcap Moss & The Street Profits Vs. Austin Theory & Alpha Academy
