NBC kicks it off with a pile of dreck about such great owners.

We hope that it’s a match we’ll look back on for years as they develop a rivalry that will define the sport. Sinner’s reach should make him a tad awkward at such a young age, but thanks to better-than-he-has-any-right-to-have athleticism and uncanny timing, he can pick up anything and turn it into offense that controls a point. Everything is perfect in the world of the NFL when you’re inside it. Louis that would have ripped open all the secrets of what really goes on in the NFL they had to bail his overwhelmed ass out. What made the match such an epic was that even after four hours, they were still sending missiles at each other and chasing everything down. Both the NFL and NHL have salary caps, so no owner should be complimented for spending up to that limit they installed and can easily afford. I don’t expect the coverage of an NFL game to be revelatory or even mention any problems. Sure, no NFL owner notices $7.5 million, but no owner likes having to spend that because one of their ilk huffs paint. Collinsworth couldn’t wait to tell us just how successful Kroenke had been the past year, championships for the Rams, the Avalanche, and the indoor lacrosse…wait, what the fuck? Sure, I’m curious like anyone else if Double J is going to actually pull out a cat o’ nine tails to flagellate whoever is nearby or himself or both, but that’s where the intrigue of NFL owners dies. Is this how much Collinsworth needs to Bird of Paradise to convince us that Kroenke is some shrewd businessman? He can be a little too “Everything is awesome!” in his analysis, but he’s hardly the worst.

This year, the team and its quarterback, Lamar Jackson, in a contract year, have a lot to prove. Surprisingly, 91 percent of the money bet on this game has come in on the Texans. Last season the Broncos lost a lot of close games, and Wilson seems like the missing piece to correct that trend. This game opened +4 and is now sitting at +2.5 after 90 percent of the money came in on the Jaguars. Detroit finished a terrible 2021 season with a 3-13-1 record, but the team was surprisingly one of the best against the spread at 11-6. The Steelers have had offensive line issues in the preseason, but the Bengals have only one of their offensive line starters returning from last season. In a battle of defenses, the Steelers should have an advantage in 2021’s defensive player of the year, T.J. The Bears had one of the worst defenses in the league last season and were 0-5 as home underdogs last season, including a loss to San Francisco. Perhaps that explains why only 29 percent of bets are on the Bears but 65 percent of the money is. The 7.5-point spread is the second biggest of the week. The spread is only 2 points, presaging a continuation of Minnesota’s streak of nail-biters and heartbreakers.

This season, the Dallas offence lost some key pieces in the off-season and all-pro tackle Tyron Smith to injury. But with both sides coming in fresh and the visitors with more to prove, this might be closer than expected. It’s hard to say that any Week 1 tilt is a must-win game, but the stakes are very high here, especially for the Vikes. Their home-field advantage remains sketchy and the Raiders also improved over the off-season. The Bucs should have Dak Prescott on the run all night. It’s tough to be optimistic for this team, even against a historic doormat like the Jags. The Lions have their fair share of good will, too, but it’s still Jared Goff under centre. The Chargers are another pre-season hype team that might be a bit overvalued here. If they aren’t ready to run all over a sad-sack Bears team, that could spell trouble early. Getting this many points in a rivalry game is too tempting. Lamar Jackson should look to emulate Flacco in one way: The ex-Ravens QB led the team to the Super Bowl and then cashed in with a big new contract. Article content

I think this game is going to be ugly. I really want to bet on the improved Dolphns to win this game … When I’m not sure, I tend to see if one of the teams has Tom Brady. I am taking the Chiefs by a touchdown. I think the Dolphins pull it off. I think the Eagles will be the team out of the NFC East, but could Detroit actually be fun this season? This year, the Pats won’t be as good, and the Dolphins are better. Consider this bet an emotional hedge because no one outside of Boston is going get upset over the Pats starting the season with a loss. If this game were in Jacksonville, I might go the other way. I’ll take the points (but generally I’m not betting on this game). Grimes went 44-44 in the regular season and 9-4 in the playoffs, and Charles Curtis went 128-123 in the regular season with a 10-3 playoff record. But the Eagles pull away for a late cover.

I expect some lead changes, and though the Green Bay defense is expected to be improved this year, they surrendered the 11th- most DFS points to opposing QBs in 2021. Jefferson's QB is in the value tier, so consider the pair. Mahomes is the highest-priced QB on the slate, and he's also playing in the game with the highest implied total of the week on SISB (54). a Jets team that surrendered the fourth most passing yards, the fourth most rushing yards and the most rushing touchdowns to opposing teams in 2021.

For one night, the Buffalo Bills played up to the weighty expectations many had hung on them this offseason.

It’s a rematch from last season, when Allen was stopped near the goal line in the final seconds of a 90% — The Bills set a franchise record in converting nine of 10 third-down opportunities since the statistic began being tracked in 1973. Perhaps, it was payback after Ramsey, while playing for Jacksonville, once referred to Allen as “trash” after the Bills selected the quarterback in the first round of the 2018 draft. The Bills are back on prime-time for their home opener against Tennessee on Sept. Not much needs adjusting, except someone reminding Allen and/or Dorsey to limit the number of quarterback runs especially with Buffalo leading by 21 in the final quarter.
