It is interesting to see Lino’s parents and I can understand the mother for wanting to be there for her son, while at the same time respecting and submitting to her husband. In the end, she and his sister secretly meet with Lino and they have a bitter-sweet reunion. This time his sister picks up and they plot a way for Lino to visit the family without his dad knowing. Amy and Lino book a hotel nearby and while Lino is showering Amy sneakily calls his family. The family and friends wish them luck and toast to the beautiful, happy couple. The wedding day arrives and the morning is an emotional one as the family helps them get ready for their special day. She desperately wants to go but he forbids her saying it is a disgrace. Zora tells her that she is the only one who can decide how her marriage will work. Amy feels tired out from the tension her family is creating but it keeps getting worse. Later at the hotel, Amy checks if Lino is okay with his family missing the celebration. He is however looking forward to starting his married life with Amy and meeting the rest of her extended family on the wedding day The dad, Hershel announces that he and Maxine will be walking Amy down the aisle ignoring the fact that Lynn may want to do it too.

Lino is also angry that she brought Giancarlo to his restaurant to meet her parents. Amy apologizes and Lino tells her that they shouldn’t spend any more time together. He doesn’t take the news well and asks her to return to her real life, Italy has blinded her. Her dad and Maxine ask to meet him and she obliges their request. Amy takes her friends to the restaurant and Lino works magic with his dishes. Her parents finally arrive in Florence and her dad is eager to know her plans and when she will get back to Law School at Georgetown. As the days pass by, Amy meets a new guy, Giancarlo, at a cafe and he invites her to his family’s art gallery. Amy initially refuses to accept it and says that she is dating someone else. Amy is against this and wants to simply learn about art and try new things, and have her own renaissance. Sloane tries to get to know Amy better and asks where she is from. The next day Amy goes to her first class in her six week course on art. We learn that Amy is a Texan and looking forward to exploring Florence.

He tells him the good news but his dad is indifferent and refuses to congratulate him and disowns him instead. Amy proposes to Lino and he says yes, he excitedly calls his family to tell them the good news and his dad picks up. He cooks up a storm for Thanksgiving dinner but it is moved to the side as the family opts for a traditional Thanksgiving meal instead. On the other hand, Amy is nervous about her job interview and hopes to have a new job by the time her parents arrive for the Thanksgiving celebrations. The conversation at the dinner table is also not enriching as Amy’s dad thinks Lino is not trying hard enough to get a better job. His dad was not happy when he chose to be a chef and stopped talking to him.
