'I'll think about it' - Cody Gakpo speaks out about potential ... (Manchester Evening News)

Cody Gakpo says he has not heard anything from Manchester United regarding a transfer but says he would consider an offer if one came in.

[NRC](https://www.nrc.nl/nieuws/2022/12/07/cody-gakpo-ik-probeer-de-lessen-vanuit-mijn-kerk-zo-goed-mogelijk-over-te-brengen-op-anderen-a4150766), he added that, at the time, he started to “panic” after the loss with potential moves to United and Leeds hanging in the balance. Ten Hag is expected to dip into the market for an attacker in January and Gakpo has impressed for the Dutch when playing as a striker in Qatar. I also seek the help of God in these.” He later described the failed move as a “shame” but has kicked on with epic performances for both club and country. I haven't heard from Manchester United yet. Should I go there?

Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has spoken about Cristiano Ronaldo's exit for the first time since his contract with the club was terminated.

The mentality changed and I think our way of playing changed during the season, the style, and I think we are growing and we have to keep the process going.'' Erik ten Hag slams 'unacceptable' display as Manchester United ... (Daily Mail)

The Dutchman opted to take a whole host of first-team players that didn't head off to Qatar for the 2022 World Cup to Spain in order to keep them sharp ...

Especially in the midfield, we got run off, this is not possible. 'After that, we came into the game. 'They gave energy,' he said. A set-play, bad organisation and bad discipline in the organisation, and you concede a goal. 'You are not awake. And Ten Hag was not happy with his side's display - particularly in the first half.

Cadiz 4-2 Manchester United: Player ratings as Red Devils lose ... (90min)

Match report and player ratings from Man Utd's friendly defeat against La Liga side Cadiz.

Marc Jurado - 6/10 - Naive to try and catch Cadiz offside; should've tried to clear the cross regardless. Always keen to get on the ball and impose himself onto the game. GK: Martin Dubravka - 5/10 - Could do nothing stop either of the two early goals. Naïve defensively, though - plenty to learn from and work on. Not a performance that's going to force him back in over Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez. Their shape was good and they broke beyond the Cadiz press on a number of occasions, putting together slick passing sequences. Ten Hag's much-changed and now incredibly youthful side made a better account of themselves in the final 20 minutes or so. Cadiz switched the angle of a free-kick from deep and Carlos Garcia snuck in behind the jumping Victor Lindelof to head beyond Martin Dubravka for 1-0. Committing plenty of bodies forward, Cadiz were able to steal back possession and piece together a counter attack down the right flank. Ruben Sorino got onto the end of a wicked, in-swinging cross that caught United's young backline out when trying to play offside. Ten Hag's side built up play well in spells, with loose passes and poor touches to be expected to an extent. A heavily rotated United outfit showed their lacking sharpness in the first half, falling two goals down early on but managing to pull one back before the break.

Manchester United vs Cadiz LIVE (Manchester Evening News)

Man United lost to Cadiz CF in a friendly on Wednesday and we'll bring you live reaction from the match in our dedicated blog.

I'm stepping into the hotseat for the next 45 minutes to take you through. As long as it doesn't get too silly, it will help with the match-sharpness for domestic resumption. Value for money stuff upon the restart and that is to be expected for several reasons. It might have been followed up with another goal, too, but Murray was dragged to the ground before setting his sights. Play has resumed and United win a dangerous free-kick. Into the final minutes now and Cadiz have utilised their experience upon the restart. It looked like a clash between three players as he attempted to drive his way between two opponents. United travelled to Spain for a week's training camp at the weekend and they played Cadiz CF on Wednesday night. Shoretire makes himself busy in the penalty area as the Cadiz goalkeeper comes out to claim. Cadiz beat the rookies with an average age of 18-and-a-half by the same scoreline as the starters. Even with the injury breaks, there will be not much (if any) added time here. Ten Hag has a blend of experience and youth at his disposal for the match but goalkeeper David de Gea is absent for an unspecified reason.

'Ronaldo gone, he's the past. Manchester United are looking…': Erik ... (Hindustan Times)

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag labelled Cristiano Ronaldo as 'the past' and also stated that the club were 'looking at the future'. | Football News.

Ronaldo managed to score only one goal in 10 2022-23 Premier League appearances and two goals in the Europa League. Speaking to MUTV, Ten Hag stated that Ronaldo is the club's 'past' and they were looking to the future. Meanwhile, Pepe and Raphael Guerreiro also scored as Portugal sealed a 6-1 victory and will face Morocco in the quarter-finals. Despite his inspirational performances, United finished in sixth position, failing to qualify for the UEFA Champions League. Cristiano Ronaldo's second stint with Manchester United has come to a disappointing end with the Premier League club terminating his contract. Since then, Ronaldo has been focussed on Portugal's ongoing FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign in Qatar, where he scored a goal in the group stage.

There is an expectation United will send him out on loan, possibly as soon as January, to gain some more first team experience with either a Championship side or in Europe. This season Mainoo has been playing mainly with the Under-21s, but he has also been asked to train with the first team and was given a place on the bench by Ten Hag for United’s Premier League game against Newcastle in October. Mainoo’s mature display came as no surprise to the United coaches who have been expecting him to make some form of an appearance in the first team this season.
