They gave into it with kindness and immediately extended the olive branch to Ngozi, a kindness that did not appear to be extended to lady Hussey. Perhaps now Ngozi can also do the right thing and apologise to Lady Hussey for making a mountain out of a mole hill when she chose to contact the world and his dog about this non event.. They gave in to what is in my view narcissism. although I suspect Lady Hussey has lost the appetite for this role now given that her intrigue can be so easily be misinterpreted and used against her. interesting that she’s calling for that now and didn’t take this approach at the start which I imagine would’ve been the Palace’s approach. I await the findings with bated breath.

The palace statement, issued on behalf of Hussey and Fulani, condemned the “appalling torrent of abuse on social media and elsewhere” directed at Fulani, and said it had been an “immensely distressing period” for both parties.

And that, perhaps, goes to the heart of the problem. It's that very concept of 're-education' which stands at the heart of the Palace's statement, the idea that Lady Susan has willingly agreed to subject herself to self-scrutiny in order to fully grasp the extent of her own failings and is humbled and grateful for the opportunity. If in doubt, be a victim, that's the mantra of the modern world. The Palace is also at pains to stress that Lady Susan 'chose to step aside' – another slightly Orwellian phrase – and wasn't sacked. By all means express regret and concern that Ms Fulani had been offended by what Lady Susan said to her, and the manner in which she said it, but by issuing a statement saying 'racism has no place in our society' he effectively condemned her outright of that heinous crime. Is there a newly refurbished Room 101 somewhere deep in the bowels of Buckingham Palace, where confused courtiers will be coaxed by whatever means into admitting to thoughts and actions they have never even contemplated?

After the meeting, Fulani tweeted: “SISTAH SPACE want to say a massive thank you to all who have supported us through these difficult few weeks. The Buckingham Palace statement adds: “The Royal Households will continue their focus on inclusion and diversity, with an enhanced programme of work which will extend knowledge and training programmes, examining what can be learnt from Sistah Space, and ensuring these reach all members of their communities.” Hussey was a lady-in-waiting to Queen Elizabeth II and part of Queen Camilla’s household.
November 29th was the date of Queen Camilla's Buckingham Palace reception for charities and activists involved in gender violence work.
Fulani should have been invited back to the palace by the end of that week. At this meeting, filled with warmth and understanding, Lady Susan offered her sincere apologies for the comments that were made and the distress they caused to Ms Fulani. They hope that their example shows a path to resolution can be found with kindness, co-operation and the condemnation of discrimination wherever it takes root. The palace invited Fulani to come back… For two-and-a-half weeks, Buckingham Palace stayed silent as Fulani was abused, and I would even argue that the royal establishment lined up to protect that racist a–hole Susan Hussey. on Friday, the palace finally did something.
