The National Cricket Academy (NCA), headed by VVS Laxman, declared Bumrah fit after the pacer underwent rehabilitation. Bumrah hasn’t played any form of cricket since September 2022 and also missed India’s campaign in the T20 World Cup on Australian soil in October-November.

Bumrah, who has been out of action since September 2022 due to a back injury, missed the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
