Why Marc Albrighton was granted West Brom transfer by Leicester ... (Leicestershire Live)

Marc Albrighton's future will be reassessed in the summer after the winger left for more game-time following a promise by Leicester City manager Brendan ...

“I spoke to Marc earlier in the window and I made a promise to him about him getting games. “Out of respect to him and what he’s done at this club, I was happy to do that. It’s just about playing, and that’s why he’s taken himself to the Championship to a really good club in West Brom. But it’s been a tough period for him over the past year to 18 months, because hasn’t been a regular. He knows he’s in that period towards the end of his career where it’s about playing as much as you can. “He’s a real legend of the club. “I’d spoken to him about the possibility of him not going out. He has a year remaining on his “He’s got another year on his contract,” Rodgers said. It’s difficult because his young kids have not seen him play so much in these last few years. Supporters were left disappointed and confused by the move, with City already short on wingers. He makes his Baggies debut on Friday night against Coventry.

Grady Diangana stabbed in the only goal of the game in the first half to claim some vengeance on the Sky Blues, who'd won by the same score-line in the reverse ...

It wasn't just with the ball he impacted Albion's game - he was sliding in to win challenges and charging down clearances. We know Dike can produce - and not only in a goalscoring sense - because we saw the kind of performance at Luton that you want to see every week from him. In the right place to open the scoring at the back post. Not a whole lot to do with his hands in the first half, but he came across as very assured with his feet and passing out from the back. The first 45 minutes - perhaps even sooner than that - reflected precisely why Corberan and Albion viewed Albrighton as the ideal fit to come in and replace the injured Phillips. A tad sloppy on occasion with the ball but otherwise as cool as ever. Wallace, playing just off Dike, did hit a few cul-de-sacs as he got to grips with his newish role but as a collective Albion ran their socks off and pressed City at the back to within an inch of their lives. Took a blow to the face from Hamer's rasping strike but continued immediately unnerved, as you'd expect from him. Excellent performance, particularly when you consider he was up against one of the most renowned attackers in the division. A delightful, subtle pass around the corner from Okay Yokuslu found Dike, who bore down on goal and tried to lift the ball over the onrushing Ben Wilson, who saved with his shoulder. Gus Hamer, the scourge of Albion in the reverse fixture, tested Button with a free kick which the Baggies stand-in stopper beat away. As it was too for debutant Marc Albrighton to make a positive impression early on, just days after arriving at the club.

Gustavo Hamer gave the Sky Blues a rare sight of goal with a 25-yard free-kick well parried clear by Button. Dike was close to doubling his side's leak shortly after the break. A welcome success was the ideal tonic in a week Corberan added duo Marc Albrighton and Nathaniel Chalobah to his ranks. The right-back hurled in a long throw. His fellow recruit Chalobah started on the bench. Albion came through the pre-game blow of losing goalkeeper Alex Palmer to an injury in training.
