Royal AM walked away with all three points from their DStv Premiership clash against provincial rivals Golden Arrows on Saturday.

This latest instalment of the KwaZulu Natal derby was an important one as it could have bearing on which side could potentially end up in a relegation battle in the latter stages of the season and it showed in the intensity of the match. Now under the mentorship of the returning Coach Maduka, Thwihli Thwahla began the match on the front foot and seemed the more likely to score in a high-tempo game. The 31-year-old forward hadn't been in the matchday squad since October but emerged as a hero with his first goal of the season and the second for Royal AM on the day.

Royal AM secured a late 2-1 win over Lamontville Golden Arrows in a DStv Premiership match at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Thikazi continued to create problems for the Arrows defence and he provided the assist for the visitors' late winning goal as he set up Sedwyn George, who netted in the 84th minute to hand Royal a 2-1 win. However, Thwihli Thwahla grew gradually into the game and keeper Nkosingiphile Gumede became busy. An entertaining second half followed, as substitute Mfundo Thikazi made an immediate impact - scoring to hand Royal a 1-0 lead in the 59th minute, with Sera providing the assist.
