The first official trailer for the tenth Fast and Furious movie, Fast X, has been released.

With Fast X set to kick off a two-part finale of the over two-decade-old series, it only makes sense that the characters from all across the long, storied, and crazy franchise are set to make appearances in the upcoming film. While many of the finer details of the plot are still being kept under wraps, this new look at the upcoming movie finally gives the fans a feel for what to expect. Other new cast members attached to this focus on the Toretto family include Hollywood legend Rita Moreno playing Dom's grandmother and Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad).

This movie also introduces a few new faces, like Dante (Jason Momoa), Tess (Brie Larson), Brian Marcos (Leo Abelo Perry), and Rita Moreno as “Grandma Toretto.” The movie is written by franchise mainstay Justin Lin, but is directed by [Fast X](https://www.polygon.com/23033926/fast-x-and-furious-10-release-date-cast), the 10th Fast and Furious movie. Fast X’s first trailer shows Dom facing his biggest fear — loss — and Jason Momoa’s bad guy Dante, whose motivation for revenge ties back to the events of Fast Five, going after the Toretto crew.

“You built such a beautiful life filled with love and family,” our villain laments. And now, I’m gonna break yours, piece by piece.” Directed by “Dominic Toretto,” Aquaman says. “You’re about to learn all about fear.” He’s the son of vicious Brazilian drug king Hernan Reyes, whom, you’ll surely remember, our protagonists eliminated in Fast Five. That’s because a lot of lore piles up after a whopping nine films — Vin Diesel built a family amidst many missions and threats from enemies — but now, a past adversary is back for revenge. And he’s coming for everything Vin Diesel holds dear.

The film, which is due to be released in May, is about family and racing.

“All the family members are in it, you saw from the trailer,” Leterrier evades. “We’re continuing the story, and what's important now we're heading towards the end is to see the sum of the adventures of this family and their legacy,” he explains. From the Fast X trailer, it looks like Leterrier is revisiting the basics of fast cars, races and stunts. The director agrees: “That’s such a great description, I’m going to use that now. Leterrier talks about bringing something new to the franchise, but the trailer hints that he may actually have brought something old back. "There’s huge respect for the franchise, and I didn’t want to hurt any of that.."

Familiar faces Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel and Sung Kang are all present and correct. But he's been replaced by French director Louis Letterier, who previously helmed the automotive action of the Transporter movies (which starred Jason Statham, who's also in Fast X. He's out for revenge in all-action tale that pulls in many of the franchise's big stars, more ludicrous stunts and, somehow, some actual street racing.

The fact that we don't know her name suggests it could be a big spoiler. In fact, it looks as though Rimes and his team will be arresting Dom's team at some point during the course of Fast X.
