16.6 Marufa Akter to Wolvaardt, no run, and the keeper does well to stop it. But it landed away from the fielder at cover. But tonight came up with a good game to make it to the knockouts. I was a spectator to what the team did today. When you are defending a small total, you need to take your chances otherwise it becomes very difficult for the bowlers. We will hear from the skippers before we buzz off. Earlier, the SA bowlers did well to ensure Bangladesh could muster only 113. The hosts will be elated today. It was a good wicket to bat on. But SA have managed to make it to the top 4 by virtue of NRR. SA started with a loss and the 'C' word started doing the rounds. Obviously, it was a nevry start.
Ten-wicket victory belies anxiety of hosts as England now await in semi-finals.
"We were making it look a lot harder than it was and losing our shapes a bit but we realised we can't leave it for the last over," Wolvaardt added. Eventually they walked through with increasing confidence as Bangladesh began to fray, Wolvaardt and Brits reached their highest scores of the tournament and put on South Africa's fourth-highest opening stand in T20Is. Wolvaardt was at Brits' end when the throw came in to Marufa, who anxiously flung to the keeper, by which time Wolvaardt had made her ground. Then at the end of the second over, Brits offered mid-off a simple chance and was fortunate that Bangladesh, too, were struck by a bout of butterflies. [Shamima Sultana](https://www.espncricinfo.com/player/shamima-sultana-535870)off the ninth ball of the match, on three. [Tazmin Brits](https://www.espncricinfo.com/player/tazmin-brits-600731)put the simplest of catches down on the midwicket boundary, to let Shobhana Mostery off the hook on 25. South Africa finished the powerplay on 26 without loss, with less than 90 to get, but Wolvaardt was worried. England and South Africa qualified to meet in the Women's T20 World Cup semi-finals after both teams won their final group matches at Newlands on Tuesday.
“We agreed in our planning to put the pressure back on the other team,” said Sciver-Brunt. “We really focus on taking wickets,” she said. “We weren’t able to score enough runs in the power play,” said Nigar. “But we backed them and they are world-class players,” Luus said of the opening pair. “It was a bit of a nervy start,” admitted Proteas captain Suné Luus after a shaky beginning to the host team’s innings which followed a less-than-imposing performance in the field. “That means we take it to the bowlers, not so much to knock it around and put a partnership together but try to put the bowlers under pressure and play to your strengths.”
