Bayer Leverkusen knocked Monaco out of the Europa League on penalties after winning 3-2 on Thursday night in the principality, while Sevilla got past PSV.

Sheriff went through to the last 16 with a 3-2 win over the course of both ties against Partizan. Angel Di Maria, linked with a free transfer to Atletico Madrid and Barcelona this summer, hit a hat-trick with two in the first 20 minutes, and Nantes had Nicolas Pallois sent off on 17 minutes. The Italians were 4-0 up from the first leg but goals from Rolando Mandragora, Riccardo Saponara and Arthur Cabral gave them a 3-2 win. The Portuguese side scored twice, through Andre Castro and Alvaro Djalo, briefly leading 2-0 before Mandragora's 37th-minute goal. The Dutch team scored their first on 77 minutes through former Sevilla player Luuk de Jong, and Fabio Silva added another in injury time before PSV’s Mauro Junior saw red on 97 minutes. Xavi Hernandez's side went ahead from the spot through Robert Lewandowski after 18 minutes, with Fred levelling just two minutes after the second half restart, and Antony's neat finish on 77 minutes proving the winner.
