He's also backing a fighter who "will have the overall striking advantage," to emerge with a big victory. Instead, Jones (26-1-1) got his hand raised and walked away from what would have been a lucrative and anticipated rematch with Reyes. "Nickal has knockout power and submission skills on the ground. Much of this is of his own doing, as the outlandish fighter has repeatedly predicted himself as a future champion ahead of his official UFC debut on Saturday. Jones is a -170 favorite (risk $170 to win $100), while Gane comes back at +145 in the latest Caesars Sportsbook MMA odds for UFC 285: Jones vs. The co-main event also features a title fight as women's flyweight champion Valentina Shevchenko (-600) meets rising contender Alexa Grasso (+450). The 32-year-old French fighter has gone 8-1 in nine UFC appearances, with the sole defeat coming in a decision against Ngannou last year. Jones appeared flat and somewhat disinterested as Reyes dominated the first two rounds with his pace and high-volume output. Anyone who has followed him has seen massive returns. He watches every single fight for every professional MMA card and does extensive research before each event. But he will end the hiatus Saturday and make his heavyweight debut in a title fight against the top-ranked Gane, who is looking to get a piece of the belt for a second time.

When Jones signed up for this massive bout, it was an eight fight contract that made him the highest paid heavyweight athlete. Since then, he has won 17 fights in a row, if you discount the no contest decision against Daniel Cormier six years ago. It was a hugely controversial decision, where a lot of fans thought Reyes came away the better fighter. It is now three years since Jones last fought, where he defeated Dominick Reyes at UFC 247.
