Golden Arrows vs Royal AM: Nedbank Cup live scores (The South African)

Golden Arrows vs Royal AM: We have a Durban derby in the Nedbank Cup last 16 on Saturday 11 March from 15:00.

So it is a forced change when you do that, but for the team to be fit, we must keep it that way. Remember, you must have a team that is consistent week in and week out,” Maduka told the media. “First, you can see even the consistency of the team. The last time we played, they capitalised on our mistakes in terms of concentration and I know now our guys will be alert from beginning to end.” They’ve already beaten us twice this season so we also want to restore our pride and get our revenge on them. The Arrows technical team threw on more of their calvary as Ryan Moon and Sibiya entered the fray in the place of Divine Lunga and Bongumusa Nkosi in the 63rd minute, looking to drag Arrows back into the contest. John Maduka’s side seemed to be a level above a dysfunctional Arrows outfit as they played with more intensity, won the majority of 50/50 duels and restricted the home team to a few chances in the first stanza. A place in the last eight of the Nedbank Cup was at stake as Abafana Bes’Thende welcomed a hugely improved Thwihli Thwahla in front of an expectant crowd in Kwamashu.

Royal AM had their first real chance 10 minutes in when Menzi Masuku was felled just outside the Arrows box. The referee gave a free kick.

Xolani Ngcobo pulled off a great save to deny Knox Mutizwa. He was, however, able to continue after a few minutes. Arrows came closest to getting an equaliser in the 54th minute when they were awarded a free kick just outside the Royal AM box. Royal AM also made a forced substitute in the first half with Masuku experiencing a hamstring issue. Royal AM were awarded a penalty in the 28th minute when Mbatha fouled Shauna Mogaila. Royal AM survived some nervy moments towards the end, but they managed to sweep Golden Arrows aside and advance to the quarterfinals in the Nedbank Cup.
