Crystal Palace vs Man City - Premier League: Live score, team news ... (Daily Mail)

Manchester City visit Crystal Palace hoping to put pressure on title rivals Arsenal by securing a vital victory and going within two points of the Gunners.

Quite simply this is a huge match for Manchester City if they want to put pressure on Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table. And here is how today's hosts line-up to take on Manchester City with Palace boss Patrick Vieira also making two changes to the team that lost against Aston Villa last weekend. Kyle Walker drops to the bench and is surprisingly joined by Kevin de Bruyne which will be a big worry to City fans. Man City control the early exchanges and win their first corner that almost ends in a goal for the visitors as Guaita makes a huge save from Rodri. Palace look outnumbered whenever they are in possession but that isn't stopping them from having a go with Olise and Zaha linking up well in the City half. This is end-to-end at Selhurst Park with City looking the more dangerous but struggling to break down the Palace defence. I have no idea how Man City aren't in front but Palace are slowly growing into this game as they attempt to find a way into proceedings. This match isn't the most captivating advert for the Premier League but City are continuing to press on in search of a crucial goal. The Palace keeper saw it late but got a strong hand to the effort. City have looked less dangerous in the last few moments while Palace are trying to mount attacks but aren't quite getting it right. Palace don't have many choices to attack but when they do they just don't look like they are clicking. And that free-kick will be the last of Foden's involvement as he subbed off for Argentina's Julian Alvarez.

Minute-by-minute report: Will City close the gap on leaders Arsenal when they face an out-of-form Palace? Join Scott Murray.

Palace half clear, only for Grealish to play a delicious first-time diagonal ball back to Foden, breaking into the box from the left. “He can add greatly to the flavour of a dish but will never be the central element of one. 41 min: Milivojevic nicks Silva to the ground, 35 yards out on the City left. Akanji rescues the situation by trapping on the byline and pinging it off the nearest defender for a corner. A free kick, inches from a penalty, and he really must be in the last-chance saloon now when it comes to an early bath. 59 min: Rodri strides down the inside-right channel and looks to pass a shot towards the bottom right from distance. 66 min: Ahamada dribbles down the inside-left channel and is clipped by Rodri, just to the left of the D. It’s worked back to Alvarez, who has a dig from the edge of the box. of course there is a concern about the number of chances we are creating and the shots on goal … Had he been on the front foot, he’d have surely met it with a header six yards out, and powered it home. Sometimes you have to win ugly, and that’s what City did tonight, moving to within two points of Arsenal at the top of the table. push, push, but don’t lose the head …

Crystal Palace 0-1 Manchester City: Erling Haaland's late penalty ... (Sky Sports)

Report and free highlights with commentary from the Premier League match between Crystal Palace and Manchester City at Selhurst Park; Erling Haaland scored ...

Michael made the foul inside the box that shows the lack of exprience on those kinds of periods and moments. "It's the pressure of if we lose, we lose the Premier League. If we lose 2-0, we lose the Champions League. "They have incredibly talented players, they can keep the ball within each other. That's what I expect from the players as well. They defended really well with the physicality they have. City came out with similar intentions after half-time and had a glorious opportunity to score when Grealish was fouled on the edge of the area, despite faint appeals for a penalty. "He knows he will have the chance and he'll be there. Normally, in football, basketball or tennis, when you're thinking of the action just passed or finished, you cannot be a good athlete. The Norwegian striker could have made it two but he only headed Grealish's cross following a counter-attack over the crossbar. Palace's resistance would only last a further 10 minutes as Olise couldn't stop his feet from charging down Gundogan at a short corner and caught him high on the midfielder's ankle. City were wasteful for most of the Selhurst Park clash and Haaland himself could have walked away with the matchball.
