Who Is Noma in Power Book II: Ghost Season 3? | POPSUGAR ... (POPSUGAR)

Caroline Chikezie, who stars as Noma in Power Book II: Ghost season 3, dishes on her new "badass" character and what she brings to the Power Universe.

"When she comes into their lives, they're running their little thing, but she comes in and she kind of takes over a bit and shows them what's what," she says. According to Starz, Noma is the "ruthless new connect" who disrupts Tariq's plans to exit the drug game and puts him, Brayden, and Effie (Alix Lapri) back in business with the Tejadas as they're "challenged to move more weight than ever before." However, the actor brought her queenpin character to life by drawing additional inspiration from an unlikely source: [Denzel Washington](https://www.popsugar.co.uk/Denzel-Washington)'s Frank Lucas from "American Gangster." [showrunner Brett Mahoney](https://www.popsugar.co.uk/entertainment/power-book-ii-ghost-season-3-showrunner-interview-49120385) when she booked the role. (Aka the same ring Mecca gifted Monet in season two.) But Noma doesn't even truly make her presence known until halfway through the premiere, when she rolls up on Tariq ( In true "Power" fashion, the spinoff series introduces one of its newest ruthless characters, played by Caroline Chikezie, in the most explosive way possible during

'Power Book II: Ghost' Star Paige Audrey-Marie Hurd Explains That ... (Bustle)

The Season 3 premiere of 'Power Book II: Ghost' resurrected Paige Audrey-Marie Hurd's character to the surprise of fans. Hurd breaks down Lauren's return.

But if you think that is my name, I’m just like, ‘Yes?’ They’re like, ‘Oh hi!’ And I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, and by the way, my name is Paige.’ So it depends on Lauren’s actions — and Jenny’s — and seeing if she stays put, if she cooperates, can get back to her family and be out of it completely, or if she ends up shaking up the room and seeing what happens. She should probably go to therapy to figure all this trauma out and just completely remove herself. So now all she has is what happened to her that night, which is also a bit blurry because of her head trauma. [Lauren’s brother](https://www.cheatsheet.com/entertainment/power-book-ii-ghost-season-3-introduce-lauren-brother.html/) will be introduced this season to expose the truth about her death. I’m always super grateful to Courtney Kemp and 50 Cent for the opportunity of being on one of my favorite shows, and such a huge show at that. Can she get to her parents? She gets to the place where she’s at and is kind of stuck there. That’s what I think would work best in her favor because she doesn’t know what’s going on. “How much longer do I have to pretend that I’m dead?” Lauren asks Jenny before the screen fades to black. There was a lot of lying over the last year and a half, and, wow, it was hard.” My prediction is that fans will be wondering what she’s going to [tell] Jenny, if anything.

Power Book II: Ghost Season 3 Episode 1 Review: Your Perception ... (TV Fanatic)

Cane is searching for a new connect, while a mysterious visitor sets her sights on finding Mecca's killer on Power Book II: Ghost Season...

She also claims to have a CI within the "organization," and while she could have meant Lauren, what if she meant someone else? She's also been a steadfast Tariq supporter, but at the same time, she's built like Tariq in that she looks out for herself. But at some point, you have to imagine she will flip a switch and start paying more attention to what's happening around her. And Noma is undoubtedly set up to be just that, especially as she ingratiates further into the story and gets a pulse on what was really going on with Mecca. But it'll be nice to see what life looks like for him when he's doing more than what Tariq asks of him. A once-forgettable kind of character, Brayden has earned his place as one of the show's stars. The one thing in his life that seems to be going well is his relationship with Effie, which probably feels like a significant source of stability for Tariq, which he isn't used to. Zeke was a decent guy who mostly minded his business and just wanted to ball out and make something off his talent. So much of the series and Tariq's evolution has been about distancing himself from his father. The thing about Tariq and Effie, though, is that they're far too alike in a lot of ways, though it feels like, at times, they don't even see it. And I get it, she wants to be more than someone's plus one, but you can tell so many of her actions are fueled by her guilt. Tariq has come a long way from the kid we met many years ago, coasting around the penthouse and failing miserably to stay out of trouble.

Lucas is the investment manager of Weston Holdings and has been tasked with keeping an eye on his nephew Brayden. However, Lorenzo helps Diana in her quest to go to college, but she has to help in the family business in the process, which she hates. He's an NYPD detective who was once in line to be the city Police Commissioner when he lost his wife in a shootout between rival drug gangs. And a fun fact is he's completely dialed into the TLC 90 Day Fiancé universe. Keke is the ambitious VP at Weston Holdings, who happens to be tangled up in a romantic situation of sorts with Brayden. Having lost the high-profile Jabari Reynolds murder case, Jenny is out to bury Tariq, the Tejadas and Davis. Coincidentally, the more she works with Tariq the more she finds herself falling for him. With his mom and baby sister squared away in protective custody, Tariq wants to collect the money he's owed and reunite with his family away from the criminal life. While the money and excitement of the underworld are appealing, when threats come out of the woodwork, Brayden realizes how dangerous dealing in crime can be. Having lost his civil service career as an FBI agent and a lawyer with the US Attorney’s Office, Cooper is now a defense attorney working side by side with Davis. As such is the case, Dru increasingly finds solace in an old family friend named Gordo. Michael Rainey Jr has been portraying Tariq since the original Power first aired in 2014.

'Power Book II: Ghost' Recap: A New Threat Arrives, Riq Tries To ... (Cassius Life)

Power Book II: Ghost is back, and season 3 wastes no time in letting us know there is a new baddie in town and shocking us at the end.

Noma reveals that the ring she stole was supposed to be her engagement ring from Mecca and that he was working for her. MacLean instructs Saxe to get his brother out of prison and find out who is surveilling Dante’s penthouse. Riq and Brayden visit Cane at the penthouse to discuss business. He eventually hands Brayden off to his KeKe so he can learn the ropes. Brayden and Cane eventually sneak upstairs, only to discover that Riq is standing over Bash’s corpse. She is not too concerned about all of that and stresses the police should be looking for who shot Zeke and Dante’s hangar. Riq finds it very hard to get a new room, so he decides to speak with Dean Wong, who is in the middle of a conversation with Rashad Tate (Larenz Tate). Riq already knows that the gesture was not done out of kindness, and Tate tells Riq that his campaign will eventually need his help. Brayden’s dudes put him under his Uncle Lucas’ wing, and we see Lucas is a rebel just like his nephew and tells him he thinks CourseCorrect was a genius venture. Their tender moment ends with Brayden’s mom telling Riq he needs to get his things and leave the room. She is also stuck with the man she desperately wants dead, her current husband, Lorenzo (Berto Colon). Brayden’s (Gianni Paolo) family wants him out because they feel he is the reason their son is dealing drugs, despite proudly owning up to his illegal ambitions.
