It's the final league card before the international break and both sides will want to go into that Premiership pause on the back of picking up three points.
It's another rapid start to a half - this time from the visitors as they take the lead. If Fashion Sakala had been given the hook at the break there could have been few compalints but Michael Beale's faith pays off in sticking with him. Sakala crossed and after a couple of efforts were saved, the former Norwich man fired high into the net. And the home side have restored parity. Really poor from Antonio Colak who is put clean through but the Croat gets it all wrong as he shoots wide. And Colak was culpable and he's obviously been guilty at the other end, particularly with that awful miss. It's another for the Light Blues and that should surely be that with 20 minutes left. The ball is planted right on his head but he gets it all wrong and sends his effort off target. Can Hibs do the Ibrox side a favour later? Slattery was shown a second yellow card by referee Nick Walsh on the 75th minute of the defeat at Fir Park after he appeared to strike Gers midfielder Todd Cantwell on the face with his arm. Alfredo Morelos looks like a man with a point to prove and if he could keep that level then he'd be well worth a contract. There's no doubt it was a flat first half from Rangers but they have been much-improved in the second half.

Cantwell told Sky Sports: "We've put a run together now and we want to carry that on when we get back from the internationals. "We don't want to be glorious losers and say we were well in the game. There aren't enough cameras in the stadiums to make it as conclusive as we would like but I just hope it doesn't cost a team their place in the top flight." I think there is a bit of confusion around the building as to how that has come about." Ally McCoist told Sky Sports on co-commentary duty: "It was a marvellous touch from Max Johnston and watch the movement from the centre-forward Kevin van Veen at the far post. It is exceptional as he gets the right side of Goldson. I know that's easy to say in retrospect, but they probably would've. I think it's good for the boys who arrived in January that we now have a break before we get back to it." "I think Rangers probably would've won the game today anyway. Was it done on the cheap? "I'll look for a bit of clarity on the third goal, which is a big moment in the game. But there will be games where teams may get relegated or may be in the play-offs.
RANGERS came from behind to see off Motherwell and maintain their unbeaten Premiership run under boss Michael Beale.
This was an afternoon that promised much for Motherwell early on but one that ultimately delivered nothing as Kettlewell lost for the first time as boss. Motherwell never looked like building on their advantage, though, and they created little to worry Rangers until Beale’s side shot themselves in the foot. It was quite the way to mark his return to the team and certainly a positive for Beale to take away from Fir Park. Thousands of individual cards with images of Wilson and Robertson were placed on seats in the build-up to kick-off. Many started to filter down the stairs before their scheduled arrival time and they were soon in full voice as Motherwell set their sights on victory. The outcome of the VAR review didn’t look convincing but the effort stood as Van Veen converted a Max Johnston cross. The momentum continues to build for Rangers under Beale’s guidance and this was a day where they showed different sides to their game. The absences of Raskin and Barisic were noticeable but they never looked like being costly for Rangers. The group later posted a statement on social media with another banner that labelled Ross Wilson as the ‘director of failure’. The Union Bears were noticeable by their absence last weekend after being refused entry to Ibrox for the Scottish Cup win over Raith Rovers. The form away from home has been an issue at various times over recent seasons and being able to take care of It was a first defeat in five fixtures and for new Fir Park boss Stuart Kettlewell.

"Fans get frustrated and they then start having a go at the board. "They're voicing their frustrations. "I understand the frustrations of the fans, they pay their money and they fill out every game home and away. "The recruitment at Rangers has not been good enough so there has to be accountability. "But there's no doubt that something has to happen, and happen quick at the club." After efforts by Ryan Kent, Colak and Tavernier in quick succession were all blocked, Cantwell fired high into the net – with VAR ruling out the suggestion of a possible offside. Midfielder Sean Goss sent Max Johnston scarpering down the right in acres of space and his delivery across the box was converted by Van Veen, with a VAR check confirming the home side’s lead. Gers substitute Malik Tillman grabbed the fourth before Well’s Callum Slattery was sent off in the 76th minute for picking up a second yellow card in an exhausting game that took part against a background of protest from both sets of supporters.

The away fans held up banners with the faces of Rangers sporting director Ross Wilson and managing director Stewart Robertson on them, crossed out with a red stripe, saying ‘Time for Change’, a continuation of a theme among a section of the Rangers support. [Rangers](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2023/mar/08/scottish-premiership-roundup-furuhashi-fires-celtic-to-win-over-hearts) captain James Tavernier levelled midway through the first half with a curling free-kick from 20 yards.
Gers fans held up banners saying it was 'time for change' at Ibrox.
Rangers kept alive their faint hopes of catching Scottish Premiership leaders Celtic with a 4-2 win against Motherwell.
But Cantwell settled Rangers' nerves in the 63rd minute, firing high into the net with VAR rejecting the suggestion of a possible offside. After making a mess of trying to clear a James Furlong corner in the 59th minute, Rangers were punished when Mugabi poked in the equaliser from three yards. Zambia striker Fashion Sakala headed Rangers in front, but Motherwell substitute Bevis Mugabi equalised in a quick-fire exchange of goals in the second half.
It sent a disgruntled support home content with the on-field performance and a 4-2 cinch Premiership win, although it will do little to quell the discontent ...
It sucked the life out of Motherwell and ended their recent momentum with this defeat their first in five outings. Fashion Sakala headed Rangers in front straight after the break with Tavernier turning provider and, given the control, the Ibrox side, it looked like they were home and hosed. If it left the Rangers board twitching awkwardly before kick-off, it was nothing to how uncomfortable it got shortly after.
