Sorry, Rings of Power Haters - Galadriel Was Overpowered in The ... (CBR)

The Rings of Power version of Galadriel was heavily criticized by viewers, but Galadriel in The Hobbit wasn't totally LOTR-accurate either.

The Rings of Power did something similar to The Hobbit. All that to say, The Hobbit's version of Galadriel wasn't perfect either, so there's no reason that The Rings of Power adaptation should have received so many complaints from haters. Yet, there was a crucial problem with her character that was obvious from the very first episode. However, the heroism was an age and a half too early, and that was clear when Sauron revealed himself. That was a filmic invention to make Galadriel more important and more powerful in viewers' eyes. Of course, Sauron only feigned his retreat, but the film's reasoning was still wrong. In ages past, she fought in the War of Wrath and many other conflicts. [Saruman and the White Council](https://www.cbr.com/lotr-galadriel-gandalf-white-council-leader/) went to Dol Guldur to rescue Gandalf from the Necromancer. There were parts of Galadriel's character that did match Tolkien's work, and there were parts that didn't. Some viewers thought that she was too heroic, too war-like and too selfish. [The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power](https://www.cbr.com/tag/the-lord-of-the-rings-the-rings-of-power/) had its fair share of backlash. One of the biggest sources of complaints was Galadriel.
