Geronimo Prisciantelli converted from wide on the left to make it 7-0. With 12 minutes remaining, a brilliantly-weighted kick from Libbok was grounded by Blommetjies ahead of Dave Kearney, yet neither number 10 could find the killer blow. With the wind in their favour, they dominated and went 17-0 in front thanks to Manie Libbok and Suleiman Hartzenberg tries. Number eight Deegan duly barged over for Byrne to make it 22-17. Priestland kicked to the corner from a penalty and a clean lineout win saw Botham peel off the back of a driving maul to power over the Zebre line. But again Cardiff hit back quickly as a fortuitous bounce enabled Grady to coast in for the simplest of tries and the driving maul again proved decisive as hooker Belcher crashed over to secure the bonus point.
