Orlando Pirates' top-two bid in the Premier Soccer League comes under stern scrutiny when they visit wounded Richards Bay on Saturday.

[Premier Soccer League](https://www.goal.com/en-za/psl/yv73ms6v1995b5wny16jcfi3) faces a tough challenge when they visit wounded Richards Bay on Saturday. The last meeting between Pirates and Richards Bay ended 0-0 last October. Having shared spoils in their last two games, they are winless in the last seven matches. Recent difficult results by Richards Bay prompted the club to make changes to their technical team. This is a crucial match for Pirates who know that dropping points could allow Kaizer Chiefs to jump to third spot, should they get a better result than their Soweto rivals later on the day. [This battle](https://www.goal.com/en-za/match/richards-bay-vs-orlando-pirates/news/27rb5b6uz8zi7e9np2cnwq7tg) at King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium promises to be a humdinger between sides fighting to finish second on the PSL table.

Orlando Pirates hand Richards Bay sixth straight defeat and move ... (Independent Online)

Orlando Pirates moved up to second in the DStv Premiership after a comfortable win over Richards Bay in Durban on Saturday afternoon.

The under-23 international was played through on goal with a long ball over the top however he failed to find the back of the net after chipping the ball over the onrushing Sipho Chaine in goals. New man at the helm Vasili Manousakis seemed to set up his side to frustrate the visitors, and successfully so, as his unit set up in a 5-4-1, looking to close down the dangers of the Pirates wingbacks. Jacobs in the Richards Bay goalpost parried a Terrence Dvukamanja header into the path of Xoki but the goal gaping at his mercy, Xoki somehow scooped his effort over the bar when it seemed easier to score in the fifth minute.

Pirates rout Richards Bay to move second on the log (Citizen)

A goal in each half from Terrence Dzvukamanja and Monnapule Saleng secured maximum points for Pirates.

Jose Riveiro’s charges sealed the victory after some sloppy defending in additional time and Saleng took advantage and slotted the ball into the back of the net and to take Bucs closer to second place finish on the league standings. Pirates looked more eager for a second in the second half, with their attack especially Lorch and Saleng making a lot of threats, but they just couldn’t get a breakthrough. Monnapule Saleng and Thembinkosi Lorch were great on attack for the Buccaneers, with chance after chance falling in for the visitors, but they just couldn’t extend their lead.
